Amazingly filmed video, great images, great communication with the viewer, there is a lot to learn, not to mention the high mood that is felt throughout the video, it works magnetically. Relaxation.😊

Partrick, this must rank as one of your finest locations that you've ever visited in all of your present two hundred plus videos! Monmouth looks to be a most gorgeous Welsh town, with the higlighted bridge over the river, the castle and many other buildings of lovely architecture. The two disused railways that spanned the river are stunning, with the steel bridge still in use as a walkway, and the other with just the arches remaining, but the span removed. That view from the Kymin was absolutely remarkable. By the way, Patrick, the comment of how good the Premier Inn service is, is most impressive. Many thanks for this filming.

Thanks Ffranc. You'll have probably gathered that the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean is my favourite place from childhood, so I'm glad you liked the look of this area. That was the friendliest Premier Inn I stayed in at the time👍😀

I was looking forward to this one Patrick. I thought Monmouth and the Kymin. What could that hold? I wasn't disappointed. The bridge is a favorite but not to be overshadowed by the rest of Monmouth. it's such an interesting town that I've enjoyed for some years to. That Duke of Beaufort bridge Patrick is in our own family history. Dad would say to us when we were young, 'Off to attack a bridge today lads,' and as head of the SAS demolitions wing it was this very bridge they would practice on. Paul and I walked over it for the Trothy hike 2016. That stretch of the Wye was our very last walk together. Good to see. Well, the Kymin I have to go to for that view. Thanks for sharing it Patrick. Another fab production. All the best. Mark

Hi Mark, yes I've always loved Monmouth, although of course I remember the Monnow Bridge before it was pedestrianised and the new road bridge being built nearby. Nice to know I walked in some of your family history too, your Dad practised on a great bridge. Obviously this must be a special part of the Wye for you Mark if this was the last walk you did with Paul. I think I've only ever walked this particular stretch myself once before as well as the Offa's Dyke stretch. Definitely worth getting up to the Kymin if you can, you'd love it. Well as always Mark thanks for watching. Catch you again very soon. Cheers, Patrick :)

Now that build must have been the 70's maybe? Ha ha - yeah dad would blow it up. Exercise of course. Like you PatrcikI've walked that stretch twice only once with Paul. It was good to see you heading back up to Redbrook then turning off for the Kymin - well worth a visit for sure. Next time I'll make my way up there. Thanks Patrick - yes, see you soon. Peace!

Delightful film. Have you seen the video, Monmouth 1960, by David CJ? It starts with the view that you end with. I don't think I ever discovered that stretch of the WVW between Redbrook and the Kymin.

I had no idea there was so much history within Monmouth. I've only ever driven through or walked around corners of the 'Shire... Incredible views from The Kymin. A name I know and will have to add to my list of places to visit. Have you treated yourself to a new backpack? Thanks for putting this one together, Patrick. :-)
@solitaryrambler6 жыл бұрын
Great place Olly, worth a visit from you one day :) Yes the Kymin does provide great views, although about 7 miles it's not a particularly difficult walk, just follow the Wye Valley Walk to Redbrook and Offa's Dyke back to Monmouth. Well done on spotting the backpack! :) It is indeed a new one. I actually bought it just a few days before I went out to shoot this, purchased it whilst I was in Weston from Mountain Warehouse. The backpack was (supposedly) originally £60, but I got it at half price, so I though why not :) Thanks as always Olly for watching. Cheers, Patrick :)

Whenever I shop at Mountain Warehouse, I always try to visit a store (I like the one in Cheddar Garden Centre). Only several occasions I've found bargains, like two T-shirts or long-sleeved tops, for the price of one. Deals you won't see online. £30 does sound like a bargain for you. :-)

I normally shop online at Mountain Warehouse, but during one of my visits to Weston I happened to pop into that store and the backpack was saying "buy me"! It's good enough for me for just a day pack :)
