Hey Guys :) 2 weeks ago, I went on a new adventure, one goal, summiting mont blanc, it was a two days solo ascent, to make it on the top of the highest peak of western Europe.
If you watch to the end, you’ll see that I turned around almost at the summit because of weather conditions (extreme wind), I still ask myself if I should’ve kept going, maybe nothing would’ve happened, but knowing that I don’t surrender that easily, there was a real chance of being blown away by the wind, so at the end I think it was indeed the right decision. There’s something special about being in the mountains solo, you have to trust yourself to make the right decisions.
It was a good trip to France overall and had a lot of cheese 😃
If you go out there, be ready for the cold and have your climbing stuff ready and don’t go alone 😄
Please subscribe to my channel, it means a lot to me :)
Thank you for watching
Sofie

Belle vidéo, bravo ! Et surtout bravo pour le demi tour si proche du sommet. Une décision intelligente, qui n'empêche pas de revenir un jour ... vivante 😉

Happy to be your 500th subscriber! :) Exceptional effort and good decision! :))) I know what it feels to be at the very top there alone with 100km/h wind, -20 degrees, snow, ice-hail in your face, total white-out, and 20 hours of straight climbing with extreme exhaustion praying for the dark clouds to stop (I was there just a couple of months ago)

Thank you so much welcome to the channel 🎉 🎉😄 I’m so glad that tou know what it feels, I literally explained to people that and they were like but it looks not windy in your video, I was like it’s because I couldn’t record anything when it was!! (The ice-hail part 😰😅 ) congrats on your ascent! :)

Hello Sofie, Hats off to your amazing journey and your courage. I did try to climb Mont Blanc in August 2023. I had to turn back from Vallot hut. I know it is very hard to turn back when you have almost done 95% of your ascent. But you have taken a very bold decision. I am also planning to climb next year again 😊 I would like to congratulate you for your achievement. I hope you climb it in your next attempt. All the best💫🥳 Regards Shreekant

Hi Sofie that was an amazing climb truly inspirational 🏔️🇫🇷👏 It a hard climb with a guide and a rope team to solo (WOW) You made the right call by the way in turning around high winds and extrem low temperatures are not to be taken lightly (you gained an experience you will never forget and a sub 502 🤝from me ) Mont Blanc 🏔️🇫🇷 will be there nxt year Very best regards Simon 🤠👍🏔️

Unclean ascent, not by fair means. Using cable cars and rails is poor mountainieering.

Hey 👋 I just took the rails to get to the start of the climb at 2372m, didn’t use cable cars, there are none on this route

@@sofiemera I know, that there are no cable cars to Tete Rousse or Nid d'Aigle. I did Mt. Blanc several times on this route. Using infrastructure in general makes an asscent unclean. What's the problem to start at Les Houches and do a bivouac instead of climbing this mountain like an idiot, sleeping in an expensive, cozy bed at Gouter hut? Afraid of carrying 25kg of equipment in a backpack? Get rid of your selfie stick and try it by fair means.
@sofiemera

@@slurmforfree1754 I hiked from les Houches to above nid d’aigle, the day before just for the sport and training, I climbed to the “luxurious hut” with my 20kg backpack, sleeping bag and sleeping pad included, because I didn’t have a reservation and reserved at tête rousse if there was no space at Gouter hut, I actually have 0 selfie from mont blanc, I wish I did though …
