We love the highpoint along Seg 1, the views are great, especially giving you that first glimpse of Seg 2 and the burn area. Good move hitting these early, can be a bit warm come summer, we did it in the 90s on our thru hike in 2019! We'll be watching for the next installment of your CT videos.

I couldnt imagine walking down the Waterton Canyon Road in 90 degrees.. Zero shade out there, it has to be one of the worst starts(or finishes) to a thru hike! lol I am already considering a camping trip where I park at the Gudy Gaskill Bridge and hike up to the highpoint, camp near mile 11.8. Almost a complete panoramic view from that area.

@@JChurchua Seg 2 was really hot for us, thankfully we made it to the firehouse where we cooled off and drank a ton of water before moving on. There are a few great places to camp along the high point in Seg 1. We did exactly that because it's so cool up there, made for a great overnighter.
