I'll give that a try... can't recall in the past how I used to treat them once caught.. probably didn't bleed or put on ice! I do do that with the sambos back east and love them in a fish patty... so will try the herring that way too. Looking forward to using the fly rod when they're in that close as well. Only prob I find, light line on a jetty , with a little bit of wind, plays havoc with the berley float, so I've put 10-15lb on most of the reels. Plus can always change over to bigger fish or squid. Little bit of over kill but it works.Never tried to catch them on lure or plastics, so that's guna be the next rabbit out the hat. Also, thinking bout getting a bait caster outfit & learn how to use it. Something different. 🤙🤙

Around feb to April we get salmon school come through most times so if you get some time during that period let me know. Get the big dogs!!
