Like the video. Spent a bunch of time backpacking in Big Bend National Park. I need to visit the SP. Particularly like you music choices.

Guale 2 is something - the view is amazing and I think it's the most isolated campsite at BBRSP. Since we're no longer in TX, I don't think I'll have another chance to visit the park or the camp site anymore, but your video did the site a lot of justice. A lot of great memories - and I really enjoy the hike from the site to Javelin Road. One of the only places I have 2 full size spares, 20 gallons of extra fuel and water, recovery gear, a GPS with inreach and still feel unprepared, but totally worth it.

I stayed at Rincon 1 last spring. I thought it was a great place. I poured myself a cocktail and sat down to enjoy it when I heard what I thought was a bear near me growling. Turned out to be a pure white stallion burro checking me out. His harem was on the hill to the south of the campsite. Enjoyed your video.

What an awesome experience. Happy it wasn't a bear. :)

Fantastic video! great editing and drone footage. Keep it up. I have been to BBRSP a handful of times and love it. Just got back from Guale and Rincon a few days ago. VERY RUGGED and need 4WD. Sub'd!

Appreciate the kudo's. I have really developed a love for this place. Will be heading back in the fall as I have missed the spring visit. This visit was pretty good timing. I have been in April and it is beautiful.

I love this, thank for making it. I am going to try to explore the big bend ranch this winter. I like the second campsite you were at, I think you called it Rinkon 2 but I thought I heard you say that it was a walk in sight. Was it ok to drive the truck right up to the table? I may try to go to that one.

According to the website they are both walk in but 002 is definitely a walk-in where as 001 you can pull your car right up to the bench if you like. Yes, the site says 75 foot walk-in but there is nothing there to prevent you from pulling in. As you can see in the video, my truck is parked right past the picnic bench. A great isolated spot.

Did you have to air down at all during your trip?
@HoustonBrownPhotographyАй бұрын
I don't think you EVER HAVE TO air down, that is up to you. But yes, I did for the sake of comfort, traction, puncture reduction.

When I was there in the fall of 2019, I was told in no uncertain terms “No grey or black water dumping is permitted in the park interior” even to put out your campfire. My cabover has just 10 gallons each. We you allowed to dispose of your gray water on the ground at the state park.

I spoke with the park ranger for about an hour. He asked me a lot of questions about my truck as he was interested in overlanding. I talked about all my gear. He even said I could fill up my 30 gallon water bladder right there at the station. He never mentions anything about disposing of grey water. He did mention no cat holes though.

Did you get the new osmo pocket 3? Footage looks great. I almost made it out to Guale 2 in February but had to reschedule. Looks like it’s definitely worth it! I heard it can get pretty windy. That’s pretty normal for solar honestly . I have a 200 watt and get around 100ish.
@landandseaadventures7 ай бұрын
Yes, the Pocket 3 is great but just a little fragile for outdoor run and gun but so far so good. I am pretty happy with the solar, I have got as much as 360 watts out of the 2 panels. But now I have put in a 30V converter and I can charge with that while the engine is running at about 400watts and that great for the Ecoflow Delta 2.
