Very nice ride! Would you have any advice on how to make getting into bikepacking more approachable? I am a bit anxious with with all the gear and knowledge it seems to require.
@JamiedoesWildBikepacking2 жыл бұрын
My advice would be, just get out and do it. You find its much easier than anticipated. Each trip you refine what you need and what you really don't. As long as you have a way of carrying your gear which can be strapped on to bike if you don't have all the bags, your good to go. Hope this helps.

Start small, say just an overnighted close to home. If you have dry bags with a roll top you can just strap them to your bikes. Start with what you have. Sleeping bag, pad, tent, some food and a way to cook it. On a short trip you can get away without cooking by bringing pre-made foods.

I was the same. So I just went on Amazon bought a handle bar bag. Seat bag and panniers. I think all in all I spent £200. All the bags. Tent, sleeping bag & mat. I rode the pedders way from Thetford to holme-next-the-sea. Wild camped too, and it was an eye opener to say the least. Can't speak highly enough of the experience. I was kinda planning my next ride on the train home. Do a 1 nighter to start.

Great vid mate, some really nice angles and shots, the drone footage especially. Ive promised myself a drone when I hit 500 subs. I love a tarp camp, I sleep much better than in tent. All the best.

Do you have a link to where you got the little wood stove. It looks great
@FindingTrails2 жыл бұрын
Hi Phil, I use one from Alpkit - alpkit.com/products/wood-stove-wood-burning-camping-stove There are similar ones on Amazon though.

Nice video thanks! How are those glass Balls called with what you boost the fire?
@FindingTrails Жыл бұрын
Thanks Berno! I used the shavings of an old fire starter rod. We’ve upgraded it since to a Ferro Rod which works great!

Nice one ; just getting into the idea of bike touring /packing after many years wild camping / 4 season camping . Good to see it s achievable without all the expensive gear. How you fixing your dry bags to the forks mate ? Look like luggage straps? Thumbs up and new subscriber. 👍

Stick some gear on the bike and you're good to go. I use straps for now and they work fine.
