I've never been to the UK but like here in BC, Canada, woops... it's raining. lol. We live in a Rain Forest! Difference is, we cannot keep our food or cook our food near the camp because we have bears and cougars. I wish we could but, we have to keep our food at least 200-300 meters from where we sleep. Same with cooking! Any "predators" in your area? I LOVE your videos! Thank you for your generosity!

My trusty DD 9X9 has stood-up to the worst the Scottish Highlands can throw at it😎 Give you a tip - get a piece of midge-net and a dozen plastic clips, and simply clip it all around the doorway of the tarp-tent ...... that'll keep most of the wee beasties out, esp. the midges👍

A little tip with the meths burner, once you’ve snuffed it out leave it till it’s cold before you place the main cap back on, if there’s any heat left in the burner it will distort the sealing washer. I tend to take the washer out and flip it over every six months as they tend to concave a little, that way they wear more evenly and you get a better seal

I'm very near Dartmoor and love to grab a tarp and my hammock and head off lightweight. With tarps and/or hammock, options for siting your camp are even greater . There is a place I have been to often , near Hay tor, where I can put my hammock and tarp up , 30 feet from a path, yet I am completely hidden. The feeling, I agree, is more of a camp than camping and does feel much better. Nearer to nature. Enjoy 😉
