Bushcraft on a mountain top - solo overnight - 3x3 tarp - making pizza & a bushcraft chair (Day 1)

Bushcraft trip on a mountain top, solo overnight, 3x3 DD tarp tent setup, making a delicious pizza and drinking a cup of linden flower tea from my kuksa, making half of my bushcraft chair, which I will finish and embellish on day 2 of this trip. No talking, only peaceful nature sounds.

Nice video. What a beautiful place to spend some time. It's awesome that you were able to make a gourmet pizza when you were out in the middle of nowhere. I also appreciate the extra effort you put in to get those wide shots of you walking through the woods. It's easy to forget that you have to walk out to set up the camera, walk back to your starting point, get the shot, then go back and get the camera. It's a lot of extra work but those shots make the video better. :-)

Sometimes you can also have bad luck, and forget to push the rec button or you might get a "pleasant" surprise and discover the image is not clear, or your settings were not right. Doug, you can't. Johanna's area seems to carry a lot of moisture, so the risk of causing a wildfire should be quite low. In my area, however, some hundred kilometres northwest of hers, it was so dry during the last two years that we wouldn't even risk to start a firepit or charcoal grill in our own gardens...

Hello Joanna and thank you for showing us your outdoor exploits in such wonderful surroundings, I have subscribed and look forward to watching many more of your videos. The quote at the beginning of this video by Thoreau I had not heard before but how right and appropriate that is. I also smiled when in your introduction text here you mention about the weather and women's emotional states; but you can also be so very strong and creative too, which for me is what yours and a few other videos on you tube seem to show. And whenever I watch such video's it seems that it is you the women who are the more creative at bushcrafting and craft working projects which are so interesting to watch; and more than the men who seem to like the cooking and eating part the best aha! (Unless of course your name is Ray Mears, Lars Falt, BG, Dave Canterbury and Mike of TAF outdoors to name but a few of my head). I am an outdoors person myself and over the years have done similar things previously in the military; have hunted game and fished both fresh water and sea and I still fish, have camped, hike in the outdoors; I enjoy visiting historical sites & places of interest (Archaeology is my major) and so on; our wild, natural, historical environment is such a fascinating (and valuable) place to be; we need to be able to enjoy it, learn from it, care about and be at one with it all at the same time do you think.

Leopold Elwes, thank you very much for your comment! This means a lot to me. This is actually one of my shortest videos 😄. I am trying to keep them short and engaging. If you watch bushcraft movies, the great ones (I'll just give you 3 examples - Bertram - Craft and Wilderness, Nagualero, Swedwoods, but there are many many more great bushcraft channels here on KZbin), with millions of views, they usually have really long movies (over 20 minutes, some of them over 1 hour), with an even slower tempo than the ones I make - so, yes, there are lots of people watching this kind of videos. It is true, you need a calm state of mind to watch such a movie, or maybe such movies offer you that peace - at least this is what people are saying in their comments. But for a small channel like mine, you are right, it is better to keep the movies short until you build your audience. So I'm trying to do that. As for this particular movie, the audience retention rate is 33% for now. This is a good retention rate. So yes, there are people watching the whole movie or most of the movie and there are people who just come to see what the movie/the channel is about and they might leave after 1 minute if it's not what they were looking for. That's why the average is 33%. Thank you for your question. I guess my answer is the longest comment I have ever written 😅. Sorry about that!
