Hello there! I went camping in the peak of rainy season. I arrived to the spot earlier, so I pitched the tent before the rain.
During the heavy rain, I took a sleep for a while. Sleep with the soothing rain sound & thunder is what I needed.

I'd prefer you use a tarp over your tent, it would be good for taking away some of the wind and rain. Wouldn't want to see your tent year in the wind
