I work in a northwest park and there is a group of Ukrainian ladies (all in their 80's) who regularly walk down a half-mile trail to harvest chicken-in-the-woods on a special tree. Not being sure of fungi species, I waited until they came back the next year before trying them myself. Lately we've had a lot of mushroom hunters at the park, but I keep their special tree a secret.

I had to eventually sell my mountain property because of mice and other rodents - but here's a tip for bedding. I used old steamer trunks. They were designed to keep mice out and they do! You can put cedar and dried lavender in them to keep them smelling fresh, and they look cool. Hope this helps.

Best way to discourage mice is to find where they are coming in. Even very small holes can be a doorway. Either cover up the holes or stuff steel wool in the holes. Don't stuff steel wool in a hole that has electrical wires. It can catch on fire. Use glass jars with metal or glass tops to keep mice away from food. Tin containers also work; plastic is no good. Mice chew through plastic. Good luck with the problem.
@worldupsidedown15 ай бұрын
I live pretty deep in the mountains and can testify that plugging up holes is the way to tackle the mouse problem. One way is using rodent repellent crack filler spray foam. I can say I’ve been mouse free due to that and steel wool.

What beautiful drone shots❣️👍Life’s little blessings to catch sun rays at the perfect moment, and the right time of year! 😊My Dogwoods have been turning color since early July and other plants and trees are turning, too. I think the leaves are going to fall super early this year. We have a few cool days coming up and then it’s going to get hot again. It’s truly amazing how the plants will take over in no time if they’re not cut back, especially with all the heavy downpours we’ve had. Really enjoyed the video! 👍🌻🍄🟫

The mice will chew through the garbage bags and nest there. I've had a 10,000$ mouse infestation for about 5 years. It's been slow going as I do not have 10k at all nor will I ever LOL so i stick with trap that I can't see the mice (the smell though when you can't find the trap is like rotting potatoes) all food is in metal tins that can't be opened. I even have all the pots pans cooking supplies in thick heavy duty totes or else I have to sterilize them all the time. I've lost so many clothes and paperwork and just everything to them. My house is only 1100 sq ft but the mouse population was at one point so bad they would walk around in front of us, I had them living in my library in the den area and they'd sit on my desk while I was writing like pets watching me! OK, the one was kind of cute he'd actually beg and those big black beady eyes, but the rest of the family had to go (I read The Mouse and the Motorcycle too much as a kid I think). Moth balls (camphor) smells so horrible but it does keep them, spiders, moths, etc at bay. If you're not living there and can air the place out and smudge it before you spend the night, it's worth it
