By far the best amateur videos on KZbin in my opinion, not only from our region. Even though multiple shots are far away from just amateur. Did a lot of routes in Slovenian and Italian Alps and I know how hard is just to take a photo in some situations. But taking shots that good "in action" is a skill for itself.

I am interested in starting solo alpine climbing and i am curios on how you started and how has your journey looked. You are an inspiration , Keep up the good work !
@andrazegartАй бұрын
Thank you for the kind words! Generally, the rule of thumb is, if you have to ask others about it, then you’re not experienced enough. If you’re not sure where and how to start soloing, then don’t do it, because others can’t solve the puzzle for you :) I hope you understand, and I wish you all the best!
@andrazegartАй бұрын
But if you know what you’re doing and the question was more intented out of curiosity on how I started, then the answer would be: gradually. Started off with some unroped soloing with climbing partners… and then just gradually went from there. And when I felt comfortable enough to also bring my camera with me, well that’s when I started posting my solo climbs on youtube.

I accidentally followed a mountain deer’s trail in the middle of last winter and ended up at 1,900 meters in the Alps, near the German-Austrian border, with no sign of a hiking trail. I didn’t want to descend the same route, so I ended up walking through dense snow and bushes for four hours. I even thought about giving up my mountaineering hobby after that. But, I still go to the mountains, and I’ve made the same mistake twice more in Seefeld, Tirol. 😂

What favourite weather sites/apps do you use? Heading there in a couple of weeks
@andrazegartАй бұрын
I’m using a combination of: - Rtv vreme - arso - meteo (vreme gorski svet) - bergfex (only in the winter).
@andrazegartАй бұрын
I find rtvslo weather to be the most accurate in their predictions, but they’re not really made for the mountains, so I mostly just use it to get a general idea of the weather in the region of where I’m going, and then I also use the other apps/sites like arso or meteo for a more detailed and specific location based forecast. And bergfex is great in the winter, because they also give a decent snowfall prediction in cm. The only downside is, they only cover the ski resorts.

And for a quick live forecast on the go. I would strongly recommend the app “Weather & Radar”, because its very easy to use and it updates the forecast all the time
