People have been calling me a murderer and all sorts of crazy stuff for that spider incident, so I feel like I have to defend myself at this point. - I want to clarify, I'm not going around and purposefully killing every spider I see. I only did it, because I felt like it was a funny way to emphasize my message on how much I hate spiders. - I agree that was not the nicest thing to do, and it could be a bad influence on younger generations. - All of the people calling me a terrible and cruel human being ... I bet 99% of you have intentionally killed hundreds if not thousands of spiders, flies, moths, ants, mosquitoes in your home... So I really do not understand what makes you think you're any better. Just because it's in "your" territory doesn't make it any less of a "murder". - Just by driving to work we kill hundreds of bugs, so one more really makes no difference. But you know what does make a difference.. the amount of trash I pick up from nature every week… So before you judge me, ask yourself what have you done to help nature? That's it from my side... I'm not gonna be replying to hateful comments anymore, so do as you please.

Comparing killing a random harmless spider for fun to killing bugs with your car going to work (which is inevitable) and killing mosquitoes which can transmit diseases is really stupid. You could have stopped at admitting you're wrong without grasping at straws

True. I respect your opinion, and looking back on the situation I shouldn't have done that. I'm not making any excuses, but how many mosquitoes, flies, ants, and bacteria have you killed, or anyone here on earth? Your house is standing on millions of dead insects that were killed when the house was built. Others would say it's okay to kill if it's poisonous, but why? You're still killing an insect... And even if you try your best to not kill any of these annoying creatures, you're still gonna accidentally kill a ton of them, so why is it such a big deal…

Lastly, foraging insects or fishing for food is an essential element of bush craft. If you follow other outdoor adventure channels, you'll probably get a heart attack because they hunt for animals with a gun. Fishing is the bare minimum. So please be sensible and enjoy the adventure.

Hi Andraz. Yes it has been quite a storm for you .... off the mountain this time. I will make my personal observations , and leave it at there. I was saddened by you killing the spider - disappointed as well. You see I think of you as a very mature young man who loves nature, the mountains, the quiet solitude , and that extends to thinking that you respect the lives of others out there. I think you still are, but your dislike (hate) of spiders led to an unfortunate on-camera moment. You are not a murderer - one negative consequence of social media is that people feel its ok to be abusive. Yes we all have killed bees,flies,wasps etc., although nowadays I try very hard to leave things alone unless they want to bite/sting me etc.. My last observation is that spiders etc.,etc have as much right to life as I do, and hence I try to respect that ........ sometimes of course I fail! So for me the matter is over. Lets get back to your adventures eh? Best wishes

Hey, Thank you, I apprecite you took the time to share your thoughts on the matter! You’re right. I’m not proud of what I did, because even if it’s “just a spider”, it doesn’t compliment the respect I have for the nature. I could easily delete out the part of the video after the first critics rolled in, but I didn’t and never will, because I own my mistakes. So yeah, I did what I did, because of my hate towards spiders. It wasn’t nice in any way, but for me personally it did not feel like I did anything wrong. But I do know that stepping on spiders for fun could be bad influence on younger generations because it could make them think it’s okay to be disrespectful against nature. Which is the exact opposite of what I want to do. I’ve learned from my mistake and will not be doing that again! Kind regards.

I’ve got a homemade setup. Basically just waterproof glue, some zipties and rubber holding the basic gopro mount fixed to the ice axe permanently :)

I like your videos very much. I think it was a bit reckless climbing with loose rocks falling on you. Quite scared watching, thinking something bad might happen to you. About spider, it was merciful, sudden death. At night wind would blown and frooze him. I think you are fly because of your attitude toward spider. 😂 Spiders are useful fly hunters. With birds they diminish number of flies.

I feel like it’s best to just stay away from them, because whenever a spider jumps in my face, I have PTSD for at least a month 😂

Kid, what you did there with the fellow being up on the mountain was far from right. Both of you were solo climbing a mountain. The mountain gave you a chance to not do what you did. But you did it anyway and even let the whole world know by posting your kill on YT. You stepped on your fellow climber, without any real reason other than your childhood trauma. Every being deserves to live a good life and die in peace, no matter how many of their species exist. Just because there's millions of spiders, that does not give you any right to kill one. No wonder you are solo climbing, you obviously do not love your self! Instead of killing other innocent solo-climbers on the mountain, try doing a regression and learn about why you hate the little creatures. The answer is surely hidden in your early childhood, just remember who told you that spiders are not good and why??? If you do nothing about your limited view on spiders, if you do not improve your self, and learn to love your self, then, one day, someone bigger than you, will step on you and squash you up.

Are you vegan? Do you understand essentials of bush craft? If you're stuck in the mountains eating insects and fishing become your means of survival. Most outdoors youtubers do fishing and cook meat. Some even hunt deers and rabbit. Please use common sense here and be more sensible. Killing an insect isn't the end of the world. You have no idea how many insects you kill every year unknowingly. 32.5 trillion insects die in the US from people stepping over.

@@Pomi3001 that was just an example from one research i found in the internet. People also eradicate insects to keep their homes clean and sanitized. Insects and rodents are bad for homes. Regardless, of you aren't vegan we shouldn't even be having conversation because meat is eaten for fun and not for survival. Plant based food is equally nutritious and has a magnitude of difference in carbon footprint and water body regulation. Point I'm trying to make is to not make a big deal out of this when there are far worse content out there.

I myself am likely responsible for the deaths of millions of insects by driving a car, flying in airplanes, walking around, etc. But that’s not the point. The issue is that an animal was deliberately and unnecessarily killed with full intention, without any benefit to anyone or anything. That is simply morally reprehensible, and if you don’t understand that, then I just feel sorry for you.
