Perhaps the only channel where I always click the video right away regardless of what I'm doing. This was an incredible video, had to show it to my girlfriend. It all feels so real, magical and genuine at the same time.

Another hike to add to the list. Other than enjoying the videos it's awesome seeing the places you hike and hiking them myself. Your OGive video inspired me to go out to Gulkana a couple weeks ago and it was awesome, but even if I can't go there myself it's awesome seeing it from your view.

how in the f#k did they get all the building materials up there to construct that massive cabin?! wow man. epic outing.
@robhill99892 жыл бұрын
My question exactly. And all the technical work that goes along with it, take someone with courage and confidence to work on a house there in that thin air.
@6ftS2 жыл бұрын
@@robhill9989 I wana meet the dude that climbed up there, put up ropes for others to follow him and then sat atop that rock thinking... "I am gonna build a huge cabin up here..." ... and then proceeded to actually do it! who is that person... he would have some stories to tell for sure...
@phergas24552 жыл бұрын
It was built in 1930 as a fire lookout for the forest service. The way they got the materials up there was by trasporting them with pack animals up to 600 feet from the lookout, and than use a "tram way" up to the lookout

Another awesome video Ian. Glad to see you back. Do you mind if I ask, what type of work took you to Washington, fire fighting? I hope you’re doing well.
@YOGOMANinAK2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I was planning on doing firefighting again this summer.. but it ended up falling through last minute. Which was a bummer at the time, but it forced me to branch out and that led me to some cool opportunities. One being some drone work that brought me to Washington. And now I have a big boy desk job in fairbanks :)

Fire lookouts need to come back and be supported by the government. This is how you get ahead of forest fires.
@chubbytuna77073 ай бұрын
Question for you: What do people do for a bathroom up there? Is there a toilet that drops off into the abyss? I’m assuming they must have something since someone used to live in that cabin during fire season.
@renoallstate4573Күн бұрын
Wag bag, you have to pack everything out, including human waste. Up at the cabin, it can smell from people doing their business unfortunately 😕 bit IMO if you are below the tree line, i think doing your business off a ways into the woods works as it will just decompose...

🤣Perfect use of a drone! Incredible footage. Nobody was affected, the environment not impacted. You just hate drones. That is a personal problem. It's like accusing someone of speeding when they went 5mph over the limit.

People should respect Wilderness regulations and Three Fingers Lookout is within the Boulder River Wilderness. Wilderness regulations prohibit drone operation and paragliding, both of which are featured in this video. Our Wilderness areas are being degraded by such activities along with many other things.
