Solo Hiking Adventure in Outback Australia - Stirling Ranges

In the past I've climbed three out of a possible six mountains in the Stirling Ranges of Western Australia. With the Stirling Ranges being only a four and a half hour drive from Perth, I figured I was probably well overdue to knock out the remaining three. The peaks that I was yet to climb were Mount Magog, Mount Talyuberlup and Mount Hassell, although I decided on short notice to also climb arguably the most iconic peak in Western Australia; Bluff Knoll.
See the exact path I took;

Hope you all enjoyed this one. I decided to mix it up a little and go with a more adventure style vlog, so really interested to hear any feedback! Was loads of fun exploring a place that is so close to home for me, even though I came back with one drone battery less😬

Good day Josh, came across your channel a couple of days ago, very much enjoy your laid back style, and great footage of Outback WA. Glad to know I'm not the only one in Perth who enjoys the solitude and rewards of solo travel in this huge state of ours.

Thanks Guy, looks like you’ve had some decent travels out on the roads. Couldn’t agree more. Solo travel has its difficulties but is far outweighed by the rewards.

Fantastic video. Not sure how I missed this one 🤔. I sympathise with you about the meals - Back Country are dire. I get Firepot meals from the UK.

Plenty of trails to discover when you do some digging around! If you haven’t already google the Lifeofpy. He’s a WA based hiker and has a blog detailing a plethora of trails that’s he’s completed over the years. Super well written and plenty of photos to go with it too

Stella effort Josh, I find your videos inspiring. I have just started my training for cape to cape in September then flying to Tassie for a little holiday. After watching your Tassie videos I might have to book another trip just to hike. Keep up the good work and thanks for making hiking on your own a less scary concept. :)

Nice one mate. You ought to give dehydrating your own meals a go. Dehydrators are pretty cheap on ebay. Cook up your best spaghetti bolognese, spread it out on the trays and dry it out. It tastes just as good when you rehydrate it as when you cooked it. I might have to make a video of my recipes...

I've thought about it but have always brushed the idea to the side as I felt it took too much time and preparation. Maybe in the future it's something I will look into, would be interested to see what you cook up though.

Magog and Talyuberlup are my favourites for the constant views. Talyuberlup especially has you climbing alongside the cliff wall and it gives an immediacy to the experience and a sense of greatness. Toolbrunup is a fun rock hop.

Amazing video mate, I definitely enjoyed the vlog style of this video. Kudos to you for reaching the summit after hitting the exhaustion wall. You have persuaded me - I will have to make a trip over to WA to do the Stirling Ranges. Although I might wait for the ridge traverse to re-open first. Good stuff, keep them coming!
@JoshCarrHikes

I’ve tried a couple meals from GoNative and they were pretty nice. They’re a NZ based company and can be eaten cold but found they weren’t very filling.
