Solo Hiking and Camping at Baladjie Rock, Western Australia

If you're up for a road trip, Baladjie Rock is ~4 hours drive east of Perth and arguably offers some of the most picturesque views in the Wheatbelt of Western Australia. Over the years I have ventured to the rock about 6-7 or times and have camped there on three occasions. There are no bookings required and the site is completely free to stay overnight. Unless you go on a long weekend, you'll more than likely find you've got the entire area to yourself. In my opinion this has to be one of the most underrated places in the Wheatbelt and deserves much more attention than it gets - Not that I'm complaining about the lack of crowds!

@@JoshCarrHikes I see the video was posted in March, were you there just before that? I'm thinking the flies might be less during winter or spring... or maybe I'm just hopeful, hehe.... Also hoping the track in from the bitumen is passable to 2WD cars in spring, we'll see! Thanks for sharing. Few Q’s .....how long were you out there for and how did get on for fresh water / grub ? Do you have any tips/ advice on spider or snakes ? Go well mate

Cheers, I was just out there for the night so I didn’t need to bring much food and water with me. Just a few litres of water, some nuts to snack and a dehydrated meal was all I took. Didn’t have any issues with spiders or snakes out there. In my experience snakes will slither away the second they know that you’re there
