It is, so it’s a shame every BG3 Monk build just devolves into Tavern Brawler + Flurry of Blows and just hitting stuff again and again and again. It has other cool stuff, but people only seem to care about its damage. Patient Defence in particular is actually really strong, it gives all enemies disadvantage on trying to hit you for the low cost of a Bonus Action and 1 Ki Point, which can be comboed with a Robe you can get in late Act 1 to let you use your reaction to punish enemies for failing to hit you, and Step of the Wind gives you a ton of extra movement, but no one uses them because they don’t let you do as much damage. Fighter is also mostly just hitting stuff over and over, but even it has more going on with its build variety than BG3 Monk. Worst part is that it’s not even the best at doing damage. Swords Bard with 2 levels of Paladin deals more damage, while also being fantastic at a bunch of skill checks, can stick around longer thanks to its armour proficiencies + higher hit die, AND has a great list of spells for a bunch of situations, including being able to be provide solid support. Oh and Bardic Inspiration, but sadly no one uses those for support on Swords Bard. Gloomstalker Ranger with 3 levels of Assassin just doesn’t let most enemies even get to play due to its insane surprise/round 1 burst damage, and even if it’s spell list is rather small, the spell they do get are still pretty solid, Silence in particular is incredible. It’s just such a shame to see what BG3 Monk ended up devolving into.

Sorry for the walls of text, I’m just disappointed with Monk, it’s a cool class like you said, but it’s best builds don’t even use core options of the class.

@@MayHugger Hi the reason im doing tavern brawler build right now is because i don't have any gear(initally i was doing a fight barb build for this run but lost the run to the gold lady in act 2 forgot i had 4.5k gold with me) and i need to dish at as much damage as i can before they get a chance to hit me we did dual wielding shadow monk it was soo cool it would be strong in act 2 if didn't make the big decision of fighting wwargaz before act 2 gear love shadow step and shadow monk its not as strong as OH monk but its fun and e4 monk is just a weak level 5 wizard with no ability to upcast you make a tavern brawler fire fang attacks with theif and do fire damage with your fist but its weaker i wish we had way to upcast monk spell or if they a better scaling at level 9 i really like the ways you can play monk

6:19 He didn't use his legendary resistance because it wouldn't save regardless. He got a 7 total on the roll, your DC was 19. They don't burn resistances when it won't make a difference.

That aint fair how do they know if they are going to save or not like we don't know if shield reaction(spell) or warding flayer is going to save us why should they know 😂

For shield we know if it will save use or not you only have the chance of using shield if it matters, the game doesn’t propose you to use shield if it doesn’t matter

@@thib0958 yes but even with shield you might get hit if we know we are going to get hit regardless we can keep our shield😄

how did you get cloud giant potions in essentially act 1?

From cloud giant fingers you can make 1 potion with 3 of them they start to appear in traders stock at level 6 most reliable trader for this is deryth from myconid colony(the Noble Stock lady) you can also buy divine bone shards for elixir of universal Resistance
