I run a CB125F honda as my small bike & a Classic 350 as my big bike (+an SH300 scooter winter hack). The Classic 350 is great, it'll cruise comfortably at 60-65mph and has ample power for hilly areas, add to this I get between 110-120 mpg and a 220 mile tank range - i've done 10,000 miles in 18 months taking it to Yorkshire, Wales (twice), Shropshire etc and its been a great bike. However my little Cb125F is my go-to everyday bike, thanks to 160 mpg, 60mph top speed and a staggering 350 mile tank range.

I love that bike. Much like I love my modern CT125. I do find myself wishing it were powered more heavily, though. Something in the 350-400 range would be nice.

I’ll look out for you at A&D in Denbigh when you go bike shopping. I’m often there! Was hiking around the back of World’s end and Horseshoe pass this weekend too. Lovely part of the world. FWIW my mate had a classic 350 and loved it. He did the Snowdonia 360 3 day tour on it and it had plenty enough power for him.

I’ve had an interceptor 650 for a couple of years and it’s a really fun bike. Chugs along at low revs like a classic and then comes alive when you give it some beans, easy to hit the rev limiter though. Looks great, sounds great, comfortable seating position with a low seat, surprisingly nimble, cheap parts. Can’t fault it really. Only thing I would recommend is changing the standard exhaust cans as they add a lot of weight.

Fantastic! You’re living the dream. On a bigger bike you’ll miss scenery, a C90 is light, easy, fun, instantly recognisable & classic. Iv just got one and plan trips like yours..to me it’s a hark back to my misspent youth of the early 80s. Since Iv had serious big bikes but my C90 sane colour as yours gives me a huge smile 😃. Really enjoyed this, thank you. Nathan just went through a video with the general message, "how/where you going to use it?" We've got wonderful choices. My favorite bike is my 1st generation Himalayan, it's the best fit for the riding I enjoy the most. But there are choices in the garage, I'm fortunate to be able to tune the machine to the ride. The bikes you mentioned would/could all serve you well, take a reasonable look at all of them!

Honda Cub- the bike that built the Honda empire. C90 is great for riding at a slow pace and just enjoying the scenery. I've seen them on motorways but not a great idea really. Cg125 classic will give a sensible 50mph touring speed. Thing is with the C90....they cost pennies to run/fix.

I don't know much about the bikes available now but the kind of bikes that have given me most pleasure include Honda CB100N, CB250RS and XBR500 and Kawasaki GPz305. I have had an Enfield but it was a Lightning 540 which was one of the more traditional models based on the original Bullet engine. I suppose those gas cylinders have a built in valve. My camping stove is the type that punctures the cylinder so can't be dismantled until it's empty.

I always worry though if I have to leave it some place far from where I'm camping as we have to many people stealing bikes or scooter even if you locked it.. alarmed it etc . Here in North Yorkshire. I love to ride out. Never in a rush to get there.. speed kills . Camping make me feel alive and spot of fishing too. Camping stove is what I had first time out mate?

I recently bought the Meteor 350 Fireball, £3200 inc on the road from Moto GB who are selling them off. They used to be the importer but no longer are, so they are selling off their stock of them. The Meteor is excellent, I highly recommend it. I used to own a Scram, the finish level and comfort of the Meteor is much better and more solid, even though it’s currently a cheaper bike. But if you want the step up in power to the interceptor, then they are also currently fantastic value as well at £5200 brand new on the road. Good luck with whatever you decide. 👍

If you struggle with bike weight I'd steer clear of the Interceptor as it's around 220kg and it feels heavy, also if you have short legs you may not flat foot it . The Classic 350 is a great bike I'm on my 3rd and although not quick it will maintain 65 - 70mph all day long with bags of low down torque. The other one I'd look at is the 350 Meteor, I've had 3 of those too, love em! Road test both and see what you think. There are some great bargains out there at the moment with a new Classic for around £3800 on the road and a new Meteor for around £3300.🙂👍

Hi! The Interceptor is only about 800mm seat height, perfect height really. weight only bothers me when the bike is also tall if you get me? I tried out an Africa twin for size, with its 900mm seat height and over 240kg weight and I just thought, nope! 😅

Well my 2 pence for what’s it’s worth would be to ask yourself what you will use the bike for? If you are only going to potter around wales then the 350 might be great and cheap, if however you might want to potter around wales and on occasional trips further afield you might be better off with the interceptor? The new Royal Enfield 450 might be the best compromise 🤷♂️

Thoroughly enjoyed this video. Those C90’s have a big jump in ratio from 2nd to 3rd where it revs it’s nuts off in 2nd then way to low to pull in 3rd. But that’s just my opinion. I’ve got the new 125cc cub. 19 plate & it goes well tbh. Apart from hills. 😜 As for a second bike I’d test ride the interceptor just to feel the weight as they are rather heavy. You really feel it lifting off the side stand. They go well though. If you like the classic 350 try & pick up the classic 500. Not much more power but a lot more torque so it pulls like a train up a hill whereas the 350 classic struggles a bit so I’ve seen on KZbin videos. T100 Bonnie’s can be had for good money second hand too. Guzzies also.
@thatwelshman45182 ай бұрын

@@thatwelshman4518 Plenty of good used ones around now. I have the classic and also being of the vertically challenged (29" IL) I also bought the low seat and it really made a difference to getting your feet flat on the ground. I also fitted the heel and toe lever as I was never comfortable with the standard lever and you should be used to that lol The 350 is happy at app 50/60. It will do 70 but you feel you are thrashing it. Plenty of torque so will plod around all day up and down hills with little gearchanging at 50 mph + which is what you want on those back roads. If you are thinking faster roads at speed then the 650 twin might be better? If you go with the classic look around for a used one as most owners will have added a few extras. I've never seen one but you could have a look at the bullet version same as the classic but with a dual seat although with the classic you could run with a solo seat and get plenty of gear on the back.
