Packing up in a high wind in the dark is never fun. Filming the whole process: heroic!

Oh man. Solo hiking in the dark on that terrain is actually quite dangerous. You could twist your ankle or fall, and then we'd only have a picture of a Henry Popsicle. Be careful out there Henry. Unless you're facing flooding, it's usually best to sit tight. Glad to see you made it down ok.

Hi Henry, no point in pitting yourself against nature, inevitbaly the human loses. So a very sensible choice in my view. Thanks for sharing another interesting and enjoyable video and some intersting images as well ... and let's not forget, the mountain rescue guys have enough to do so well done for "Pulling stumps" when you did.

Henry, one big reason I enjoy your channel is that you are truly "one with the landscape". What differentiates you from many others is that you are not just an observer, but clearly have an emotional bond with where you are. It is very pleasing and gratifying to watch your interaction with nature. Recover soonest!

@@wolfypics7339 Apparently you never read my comment and were already predisposed to critique Henry Turner's photography skills. There was no mention in my comment about his photography (which is very good) but his emotional love for the environment. I think most would agree but you, a bit elitist, eh?

One of my most enduring memories of weather whilst camping is a night where I was in the foothills and the wind just kept coming down off the mountains viciously in waves. You could hear it roaring down the slopes & accelerating like a freight train coming towards you. Every wave was preceded by a pressure shift so all the walls of the tent would be sucked inwards, then the rolling roar as the wind got closer before a moment of almost stillness followed by the tent just billowing & shaking madly. My tent survived but I did have a broken pole & I didn't get any sleep but it was such an awesome show of nature I feel humbled to have witnessed.
@markjones127

I have an MSR tent which came with a few extra guy line connect points which they never supplied guy lines for, so if it' windy I use them too and get the lines really tight, I also use 4 Delta pegs and that make me feel much safer in fairly high winds as they stay put and can't get blown out.

great vid, it's bad enough camping on the North Norfolk coast in September and watching an aluminium pole bend in the wind and not straighten up again, let alone being alone on a mountain. Probably did the right thing packing up, though that walk back must have been dodgy too.

Well done Henry, you made the decision that you felt was right for you, then took your time getting down the mountain, and you got down safely, which is the most important thing! That said I tend to agree with other comments that it might have been best to sit it out and come down more safely at first light. Cold and uncomfortable maybe, but safe definitely. To that end I always carry an emergency bag and blanket, although fortunately I have never needed to use them. Your headtorch looks a bit light on lumens and beam width though, walking down a mountain in the dark, I would prefer a bit more light and vision around me than yours appeared to give in the video. Stay safe, and I look forward to the next adventure

English, whether you say “eating soup” or “drinking soup” depends on how you're consuming it. If you're consuming it from a bowl with a spoon then you're “eating” it. If you're consuming it from a cup directly into your mouth then you're “drinking” it.
