Watching you continue to make decisions based on conditions is really informative. No point in taking risks and then making the best of the situation.

As someone who was EXTREMELY FAMILIAR with that entire area and spent half a lifetime living, hiking, camping, hunting and fishing in that area, I will say that you made all of the right decisions based on your conditions and your experience 👍🏻 I made it to the end 🍻

Awesome video. Nice to see the decision making process. I put myself in a vulnerable scenario during a late fall hike and learned it’s better to play it safe. But when you’re in the moment after a long day of slogging sometimes it’s hard to find clarity. The realness is inspiring. Thanks for putting in the work and bringing us along. 🔥

@@martymorissette first of all excuse my level of english. my writing is not perfect. About the videos : your effort to do things is real. there is so much fake outdoors videos. you put the effort and you enjoy it. I also do alot of winter camping in our mountains in Bulgaria and I love watching other people do the real thing. You, Joe Rubinet, Xander Budnick and Bertram Craft and Wilderness. So keep doing it and people will recognise it. Best Regards

I am part of the people who watch your videos entirely 🙂! Again this one was great. I love the fact you hike in the same aera where I go, 2 weeks ago I made a video on Jay Mountain in the ADK area. It is a very nice spot especially when hiking along the ridge but it is not very popular (I don't know why) so inot an issue to fin a parking spot. I also camped around silver lake mountain that same day and found a very nice spot to pitch the tent. I Love the ADK and living in St-jean-Sur-Richelieu, it is not to far for me.

Picked up your channel through Maxim Budnick in that white water video. Since then, I have been binge watched all your videos- really beautiful the way you capture the outdoors. Im in Ottawa, Canada and I did Marcy in 2022! We weren’t sure if we could bring our bear spray from Canada into the USA, did you have any problems crossing the border with it?

Thank you so much :) I’m glad you are enjoying my videos :) yeah I cross the borders with it… I don’t think you are allowed but they never asked… I’m thinking they would just confiscate it if ever they thought it was a problem…. I’m in the Ottawa region as well 🙌🙌🙌

With that brs - pinning the stove on while the can is level greatly reduces the amount of gas it leaks. I was burning my hand with that stove and almost returned it before finding out that fact.

Would you need an UL pack if you weighed less (like, had less upper body muscle to carry around)? (asking for a friend)

How did the pack work for you? I literally ordered one yesterday, they're 40% off right now.
@martymorissette
@martymorissette Ай бұрын
well at that price... you can't go wrong lol! Good pack but here are my thoughts: 1- 40 L is small so make sure your gear is dialed in! Doable but that was a big adjustment for me. 2- Water bottle pockets are less then ideal, I hope that in their next iteration of this product they will have elastic material for those so it's easier to put the bottles in and take them out and if they can make them so you can actually reach the water without taking your pack off it would be ideal. 3- the front pocket is also something I would like to see change in the next iteration. It needs to be made with a material that is also elastic so you can store more things in there. When the pack is full from the inside that pouch becomes very small and it's super usefull. 4- the running style shoulder straps are absolutely amazing. Most comfortable pack I have ever used. Love the hip belt pocket and love the shoulder strap pockets. Super light and compact as well so great for scrambling. and the price point is not beatable when it comes to UL packs. In my opinion it's a great buy even though the water bottle pockets and the mesh front pocket needs to be tweaked. Make sure to use a liner in that bag, or a pack cover... I prefer a liner. cheers!
@shawnr6117
@shawnr6117 Ай бұрын
@@martymorissette I'll probably carry water in one of the shoulder pockets or use my fanny pack that has 2 bottle holders. Although it occurred to me that you could put a hydration bladder in one of the side pockets if you're not a fan of putting it in the main compartment. Agreed a liner is a definite must, although in the fall you might want a bright orange rain cover with that pack 😁🦌

@@martymorissette I too found the side pockets restrictive for accessing water bottles and that made me decide not to buy a Serratus. I'm still considering a Durston Kakwa pack....
