But to say it beats all studio and live versions? Lol, Yeah I don't think so! Marty played it much faster, cleaner, with more feel, and live in front of thousands of metal fans. He didn't play this alone in the comfort of his room with zero pressure and unlimited restarts.

@@InvisibleYetVisible sooo, do you have beef with rob or his audience?
@InvisibleYetVisible6 жыл бұрын
@Yesto Hmm, a bit of both really. Rob Scallon is basically to guitars, what Jeremy Clarkson is to cars..... except Jeremy Clarkson is talented and is surprisingly creative. Scallon's playing ability is very ordinary compared to even a normal lead session guitarist, his equipment is dog shit and his videos are usually re-hashed ideas that involve taking someone else's creativity and repackaging it with funny faces and stupid one liners. His fanboys do the rest by perpetuating the myth that he's basically Number 1 at whatever he fancies taking on this week. Like so many before him, Scallon discovered 'punch-in' recording techniques on his mixing software for his KZbin videos. Essentially, that's the ability to create very good sounding music without having to try that hard. Just have a quick run through your crappy song, fix up all your mistakes with punch-in recording... you'll sound like a young Yngwie Malmsteen in no time..... but you have to understand, that's not real.... it's fake..... fraud..... fiction.... and when Rob and his cheeky band of fanboys turned up at that live show he did, half the audience walked out laughing at him.... cheeky Rob was laughing, but the audience weren't laughing with him, they were laughing AT him. Good thing really, otherwise Rob's head might have disappeared up his own arse, seeing as he obviously fancies himself a fair bit. His videos are purely entertainment and not legitimate guitar videos.... now if that's what you like in a guitar video.... watered down bullshit, go for it. Enjoy them. The problem is, dorks (probably like you) jack off to him and instead of critiquing his playing, you put comments like "wow, omgzzz Rob you're better than lyk Steve vai innit". No.... He's not better than Steve Vai, well, maybe at lying and miming. Rob Scallon represents everything that is wrong about 2013-2018 guitar videos on KZbin..... I suspect nothing will change in the future though.
@yesto96766 жыл бұрын
InvisibleYetVisible I can't comment on the "punch-in recording" because I haven't noticed or looked for that yet. I hate reading youtube comments because you end up seeing so many terrible comments made by 12 year-olds, so that's not really my expertise either. Rob Scallon really does feel like he just makes mainstream non-sense that appeals also to people who don't play the guitar. But I personally think Jared Dines is worse. Stevie T is kind of comparable, but his videos have arguably more entertainment value. His video ideas are good, but he's just too obnoxious and that gets old quick. Things don't change on youtube because the audience never changes.
