Thanks again Shawn for another great video. I have never liked instant coffee. Cowboy Coffee is just about as quick as instant. I use a 700ml titanium cup, fill it about 3/4 full with water, put about two big heaping table spoon of your favorite coffee on top of the water do not stir, ( I like Texas pecan coffee), bring it to a boil and let boil for one minute. take it off the fire/coals, from about 10 inches, poor some water into your coffee coup 1/2 inch to the top. All the grounds should go to the bottom. Reallybigmonkey1 makes a great video on how to make Cowboy Coffee.

I’ll tell you. Some of my favorite memories are me arguing with my best friends dad who is a Korean War vet. He’s a marine who was in the battle of the chosen. “Look it up”. He’s 90 years old and I would still think twice before I tried him. I was in the 82nd airborne and we love to go back and forth about witch branch is the most sissy af. Lol but it’s like having a brother. You can give him a hard time but if anyone else does. .... they will have a bad day. Keep up good work

Followed your sub recommendations. Funny story: Once in Afghanistan, my Infantry battalion was on a refit back in Baghram. As was a group of Marine grunts. Some high speed individual with more rank than common sense decided it would be a great idea to put on a flag foot ball game between Army and Marine grunts. Well, it wasn’t “flag” football and it lasted all of about 4 plays before we were all on the field whooping each other’s asses. Good times. Good video, as always, Devil Dog. Carry on!

We always put up a tarp because it’s MT and well snow happens anytime if the year 🤣. I always need knots to get the tarps secured. Great video thanks 😁

So, I love how you say "truth be told, I eat better out here than I do at home", so me and my dad went out to our hunt camp one night, 4 feet of snow, got stuck 5 times on the snowmobile, took us nearly 3 hours to make a 35 min journey, we made bacon/onion topped steak, a lipton sidekick, and some carrots grilled in bacon/steak juice. Man I swear that was the greatest meal I ever ate in my life, nothing tastes better than some good beef after a long hard trek into a camp. Top it off with some beers, man there ain't anything better in life.

Ok, I knew it. The "jam knot" is the second knot taught to me by my Grandfather when just a wee tike (64 couple mos. ago), just a "slipNkeeper". First was the "regular" (overhand) ...third was the trucker (which is what he did since leaving the Navy post WWII). I just never knew the proper names...LOL! I've been watching you for sometime, but this is the first time I believe I've heard you put it so simplistically (simplestoopid). So, THANKS for that 🙂. I grew up in the woods of Deep East Texas so I do appreciate ALL you do. It's not such as easy a task as some "internet warriors" seem to think they visualize. TIME allotted...physical stamina...mental stamina...logistics. I could elaborate on each, and more, but surely those reading this comment are viably intelligent enough to understand the depth and variation of each. Im so glad you said how long it takes to build a shelter like that. In my experience most people underestimate how long it takes to build a bushcraft shelter after seeing it in a book. Metric is easy, Just do not convert it. Just like hand grenades and shot guns. 250 ml is 1 cup = Close enough, LOL. Go from there with the knowledge of American measurements. Those bacon wrapped sausage are fantastic. We've fixed them 3 or 4 times now. The bacon cuts the sausage just enough that the sausage doesn't kill my stomach. Last night I made them with chopped cabbage and onions sauteed in bacon grease and some baked beans. Now that was a great meal.

I was never in the Military, college wasn't in the card so i went to trade school, CDL and Equipment Operator. How do YOU feel about guys like me wearing military logos on clothes??? Shawn, I'm 65 Years old now. I tell people that " I'm a Cornucopia of Useless Information" as a way to get them to listen to Me, "The Jester"!!! I happen to be one of those "Crazy People" who Really Enjoys Math. I'm still bothered by the fact that when I was in High School someone shared a "Fraction Shortcut" that Everyone in the World Should Know and No-One ever shared before that day! " To find what Half of Any Fraction is, Just Double the Bottom Number" I was Furious that No-One Shared that Info. So, At the Beginning of this video you paced off the distance between the two tree's for your shelter. I'd like to share with everyone that if you reach out at Shoulder Height, From Middle Finger Tip to Middle Finger Tip will measure just about as tall as you are. So, for you that measure is about 6'-1". Quicker than Pacing off. I hope this helps someone out there with some info that they didn't have Yesterday!
