Solo Overnight in the DOLOMITES

After many weeks away from the mountains, I needed some time to escape and reconnect with nature.
Spring has come to the valleys, flowers are starting to bloom, trees are turning green while the higher parts are still covered in snow. What a spectacular contrast.
And the good thing is… that the hiking season has just started!
In this video I'm in the wonderful DOLOMITI FRIULANE, and spent the night in the tiny Bivacco Marchi Granzotto.

After that, what is your suggestion? Walk to forcella Scodivacco o Giaf or is there other suggested trail to follow. Thanks.

Hi Bruno, I have been there last summer, what a wonderful place! I guess you went to Forcella Cason at around 3:00, very nice sport for sunrises! Very steep descent on the side that goes to Rifugio Giaf! Great video and great cinematography. You are about to rival Lord of the Rings!

We call the brocken spectre "vidmo" in Slovakia and we have a nice saying about it. When you see the vidmo for the first time, that means that mountains welcome you. When you see it for the second time, the mountains warn you of danger. And when you see it for the third time, mountains welcome you as experienced "horal" (the mountaineer). :)
