Becky, I cannot tell you how impressed I am. You are one remarkable young woman!! I'm 73, and I've spent a LOT of time outdoors over the last 60 years. Folks, those of you who have not spent any time camping in the conditions Becky endured will never understand, or appreciate, the "TRUE GRIT" this young woman has. Becky is one TOUGH gal and an inspiration to not just other young women, but to ANYone who has ever set foot in the Great Outdoors. 👍👍✌✌💖🌹🌹😎😎 I don't know ANYONE who could SMILE that wonderful "quick smile" of Becky's while paddling a pack raft in the pouring rain, wind, and getting eaten alive by midges. I've been to NW Scotland's highlands and to Alaska when I was a kid. Becky, you are a gal that was born for an Alaskan adventure. I am looking forward to your future outdoor adventures. Well done Becky!!👍👍🌹👌✌✌

I now live in Tucson AZ. However was born and raised in the Allegany region of the Appalachian Mts. Of the US. I was raised in the woods and taught wilderness survival, bushcraft, and taught to love and respect nature. Becky I have watched many of your bush craft and adventure videos. You are a natural and truly will be remembered as one of the best in this subculture. I give props to you and who influenced and taught you. Proper job. And thank you.

Becky we have a great wilderness adventure group here in AZ. If you ever wish to experiance the wonders and beauty of the Sonaran Desert wilds and learn desert bush craft. You are forever welcome. We have it all. High mountain ranges with winter snow, abundance of diverse landscape teaming with wildlife. We have Elk, Prong Horn (Antelope) white tail Deer, Mule Deer, Ring Tails, Jack Rabbits, Desert Cotton Tail, Coyote, Jahvelina (Pecary), Montain Lions, Bobcats, And now sightings of Jaguars, Black Bears, many reptiles, birds, etc.... etc.... Oh, and Mexican Gray Wolves are making a comeback I'm told.

Wonderful series. Being able to get out on the water adds another dimension to the outdoor/hiking experience, including the spiritual one. You were obviously moved by your experience and it is inspiring. Such a shame about the human waste. Some people just don't give a damn. Hard to imagine why someone can't be bothered to dig a small hole and bury it, and carrying food in but not carrying the packaging out, only a fraction of the weight. Thanks, keep up the good work!

Loved the series Becky. Reminded me of the time I walked from Bridge of Orchy to Ardmaddy where I called. The midges were the worst ever. Then walked up the other side of the loch to the head where I got picked up. A lovely remote spot.

An amazing trip Becky. Hopefully your next Scottish adventure will be when midge season is over, they are torture. Although you are leaving Scotland behind you, now a part of it is in you and it will never let you go. I am sure you will understand where that fierce Scottish spirit is born out of this harsh and unforgiving landscape and likewise where that kind hospitality arrives, to come in out of the rain and wind and share warmth, food and comfort with kin. Haste ye back. 😀

Hi Becks...great vlog as usual..so lucky you are to be spending time in Scotland...just a quick point to help you with your weather and rafting with the rain usually means a drop in air temp and a change in air pressure and will affecting your raft pressure..so may not mean you have a slow leak in the raft...good luck with the rest of your adventures you are making me homesick.....

You should go for a wander into the likes of Knoydart; the Fisherfield Forest; Glen Affric; Torridon; the Cairngorms... All these and quite a few others are highly recommended areas for you to explore and experience the differing forms of landscape and style of mountains. They all have their unique personalities dependent on where you go. And of course presenting yourself as a meal to the various tribes of midges, clegs and ticks. There are many really interesting places to go and spend a whole lot of time on in Scotland, on top of it all is the rich history of the various areas.

Hi Becky and Everyone, Having used more traditional canoes for journeys in Scotland (The Tay, The Great Glen and others), my usual canoeing style is using a single-blade paddle and kneeling (which I find more comfortable), rather than sitting. I'm inspired by your travels to look at getting a packraft for use on future journeys, and I wonder if you could advise how viable it would be to kneel and use a single-blade paddle in a packraft, and particularly with the Alpacka Caribou? Many thanks for any views or advice. And a big "thank you" to you Becky, for your videos and journeys - One Life, Live it, Girl!

The beauty of a dry suit is that one stays dry. I spent three days last year during my two months on the Clyde Fjord wearing and sleeping in my suit because it poured from the heavens, streams and rivers in spate. It was all I could do to cook using my folding umbrella. Everything stayed in my kayak hatches.

You are one tough lady, smiling at the camera and making light of the fact that two ticks have taken up residence in your inner thigh. If that were me I would have put down that camera and grabbed that casstrom neck knife. Soon after two things would have been true that weren’t true when I started. First there would have been no ticks shacking up in my epidermis and second, my thigh would have looked like a well used fire drill board. I like those two robust lads that were fishing. It looks like their maggots are mixed with tomato sauce; we know where those maggots were going if the fish did not bite. You punched out a really good video GO.
