Nice video, you should really consider getting a PVC hand dredge. It is very hard to dig gold in water you will miss more than you get because it sinks faster than you can dig it, as soon as you move the gravel the gold will dive to the bottom.

Misha... Thanks for taking us along... 1 gram is better than half a gram. :) I've had a lot of days that barely tipped the scales... Oh, on "boil holes". 99% of the time they're big LOSERS. I've wasted WAY to much time/effort over 20 years on them. Normally, when the river is flooding really big, all the rocks inside swirl and roll, like a ball mill and simply grind ANY gold that MAY have fallen in into tiny, super flat flakes ....that then wash out. The ONLY boil holes I even try on occasion today are the ones that appear to have a REALLY solid rock/cobble jam at the top, that MIGHT prevent water flow from spinning the rocks. The few that gave up decent gold also had collected square nails, iron, lead and other heavies too. IF you don't see those indicators digging your way down, almost always NOTHING worth the effort on the bottom. :) Better to simply sluice all the material you can that's producing. Randy C0017A :)

Ah very interesting! Yeah I can tell what little gold was in there wast very good. Back at the river near my old place it was more common to find gold but has to be a certain elevation on the river you find gold.

You really should look into that military snatch block. It fits in the palm of your hand, that's how small it is, but it has a lot of power... I can literally lift a full size deer up into a tree, with one hand... So I know that it will fit neatly in one tiny little pocket of your backpack. Great for moving those big rocks out of the way! 🤠⛏️

Hi MIsha, this is the first video of yours that I've seen. I'm a geologist and grew up in Placerville, so the title caught my attention :) I wanted to ask when you were panning at 27:05, I noticed large grey pieces of something that were in amongst the gold and black sand. Any idea what that material was? Heavy enough that it stayed behind, whatever it was.

i see your adapting to gravity panning use a wider body pan / les angle more forward motion also pump the pan a litle upward light bounce will puff move pan out from under takes about a second do it 3/5 times or done in 6/8 sec to spec count or 60 buckets classified and panned per hr ish

next time take a tarp 7/9 8/10 put under water in the flow shovel 100 role the rocks graveldo another 100 snd again 400 is 100 bucket chalnge about 1 hr

4 men shovel 150 each or 600 is 200 buckets about 1/2 hrs you should have 1,000 pounds of cons use tray to shake down to pannable you just mined 200 bucket 1 cubic foot per 3 200 cubic ft or 7/5 yrds

Please don't fall for prying commenters trying to get you to publish any locations for any vids. They'll just ruin it! Let them hike, explore, research - prospect - like everyone else! If you e-mail to them it'll just go up in your comments and flood the place with selfish, ruining, human leaches. Personally, I like how some act so innocent and 'loving', and honest! No different than internet hackers. 'What's a sluice'? Try googling!
