Hahaha. Once again. I’ve had this all printed out and ready to go, but you beat me to it. Every. Single. Time. Lol. Now I gotta wait 6 months so it doesn’t look like I’m copying you. :) Cool little system. I love all the setting / scenarios. It’s really good to be used as warm up exercises to learn how to play in genres outside of your comfort zone.

I see where you’re coming from about the name generator, but as someone who just started solo role playing, having some names for npcs is *super* helpful. Of course I could just search up a name generator online, but I think maybe names can be more challenging to come up with than an npc’s role in the world. I have found myself walking into an established and I want to talk to the owner *consults name generator* and have a conversation with Fei Jensen, the innkeeper. Now maybe if they had included that other info as well, that’d be slick too! I appreciate your content, you helped me get going in solo rp-ing

Awesome review, thank you! You did a great job of explaining the rules and showcasing the micro-settings, and it was interesting to see what sort of adventures you came up with for "Deep Trouble in Oldport Bay" and "Minerunners."

The range of genres is amazing and each card does a lot with a little space to bring you into a totally different story. It's quite well done.

And it is published under a CC license and has a lot of 3rd party support... it's one of my favorites. There are a couple of larger setting books, too. I have used it for a Warrior Cats campaign with my 10-year old daughter. She knew all the lore, I just ran the game. :)

This is a great little system. Love the portability for on the go gaming. My only "critique" is that when I heard the title, my brain thought/hoped this would be a d4 system. I'll be adapting it to that for personal use, but will also enjoy playing the original system. Edit: I had a new thought this morning. Originally I was just going to use d4s instead of d6s. But now I'm going to use the die type that mataches the difficulty. So if the challenge difficulty is 8, I'll use d8s. I still love the original d6 system for portability though,

This looks awesome! I was looking for a system to start with (I’m a complete newbie) and this seemed cool! The thing is coming from video games is the HP and Damage systems for most games in TT would take forEVER- which is why this is appealing to me. I saw some of your scarlet heroes videos and I think that system is cool but the combat is too slow. Was thinking if ICRPG as well. Do you think this is the best system for starting out as a a newbie and as a GM for newbies? I’m in my 30s and a parent I don’t have the time to learn all the systems. I want a generic one I can port to different settings if I need to :)
@GeekGamers018 күн бұрын
If you are starting out as a newbie GM I would look at Knave or ShadowDark. I do like ICRPG as well and have done a video on that system. It is also a great place to start. Depends if you want a d20 based system or not, which might not matter or might matter depending on your players.

I still have my kid doing most of the math. I introduced my son to 5e about 8 months ago when he was 7. This looks fun and simpler. The part my son didn't like was how long character creation was.
@GeekGamers01 Жыл бұрын
This would be great for a 7 year old in a guided story. My kids learned that they wouldn’t get to apply damage (in whatever game it was) unless they did the math to figure out the total damage. That was good incentive!

Really would depend on what you wanted a campaign to track. Hard to answer the question more specifically without having a sense of what you are really looking for. Baseline is something that has character progression of course-all the way up to systems for world building and change over time
