Jason Salyer Survived a River Disaster Simulation - Here's How He Did It! Jason overturns his canoe and loses all his survival gear. He uses his pocket survival kit (The Oh 💩 Kit) to build his camp. Using his canoe as a roof and with the help of the wire saw and ulu blade he improvised a mattress. I picked up one of your ulus from Bear Forest Knives after watching Survival Dispatch's video last week wherein he used hot vinegar to demonstrate a forced patina. They were sold out of the full Oh Shhhh Kits, and I'm starting to see why. I appreciate all the small touches you guys included, all the little things a lot of people without much dirt time wouldn't notice; brass hooks (better for catching fish than other colors/materials), the type of micro cordage that will cut easily but doesn't really abrade or fray, and keeping odds and ends in little waterproof tubes. Very nicely done. And thanks for the great content and for designing an awesome blade, I am really digging this ulu. My favorite way to use it so far, aside from as a simple hand knife, is to weave green wood through it, wrapping in and out of the center hole of the ulu, to make a very quick, hasty handle. You have to be accurate when swinging due to the relatively small cutting surface, but it makes a great impromptu machete or small delimbing device when set up like that.

Agreed. Bigger, more durable gear is what I carry typically as well. This kit is designed for emergency use. Throw it in the day hike pack, glove box, etc.
