Have you had anyone mistaken you for Latina? As an American (married to a filipina) I see so many similarities. I can usually tell, but not always. You all seem to have WAY more similar features and even style and customs to Latin America than most of the rest of Asia. Have fun and safe travels!

Read the history books Mexico and the Philippines was the same country for over 250 yrs until Mexico's independence from Spain. Basically it's like modern day Hawaii and Alaska's relationship to mainland USA, and what do you call Hawaiians and Alaskans? Well Americans.

I can feel your excitement. I was the same way on our first trip to Mexico. We went to Cancun and then 2 yrs later to Playa del Carmen. If I could buy everything, I would! Lol. Our bags were super heavy from all the souvenirs that I bought. Imagine bringing 3 big plates and trying to fit that in your bag? At the airport, we still bought stuff even if we knew it was expensive. Also, say "cuanto cuesta" when asking how much. It'll help if you speak a few Spanish words. They'll be more appreciative. But a month in Mexico! Im jealous. Cant wait for more of this series.

Ave, there is so much to see ... make sure to see the Plaza de la Constitución/Zócalo (the Med. Cathedral/The National Palace/the ruins of the Templo Mayo/etc...) & visit the Palacio de Bellas Artes, it is stunning. The Palace of Iturbide is also beautiful. The National Museum of Anthropology gives you a total overview of Mexico's past + different civilization , very instructif. I've been to Mexico na din.. Nagcross pa kami ng border nagdrive lang.. Marami din nagsabi samin na sobrang magingat dahil nga sa mga issues doon.. Pero nung nagpunta naman kami ok naman.. Minsan talaga kelangan mo maexplore mismo yung lugar para ikaw mismo makapagsabi kung ok dun or what.. Mahirap kasi magbase lang sa mga kwento kasi sayang yung potential nung place.. Anyway, ingat pa din ate.. Tama yan wag magpapaabot ng gabi sa daan.. Hehe.. Labyu! Enjoy!

Go to Ciudadela. It's just nearby. Do not miss Zocalo and Coyoacan. The parks are full on weekends. Paseo or pasyal is also their culture. Though we do it in the malls now, they still do it in parks. Watch baile in parks. Mexico City has a Philippine feel. Enjoy. Me and my wife never felt threatened there.
