Күн бұрын

Welcome to another video! A rare solo wild camp and walk for myself. I returned to Kent (North Kent marshes in particular) for one of the final walks from the Year Round Walks In Kent guidebook, Lower Higham and the Thames Estuary. 6 mile circular Autumn walk. After passing the impressive (yet sadly neglected and dilapidated) remains of Cliffe Fort on the foreshore, I chose to wild camp beside a huge lake next to the fort. I had done a camp on the exact same spot a few years ago with Andy from Kent Survival (our first meeting).
It was a fantastic walk and camp and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole trip. I hope to do more solo trips in the near future.
Thanks. Tom.

Enjoyed being with you on this one. I know the area. You captured the remote feeling of the area brilliantly Isn't it marvellous that you/one can carry all your survival kit on your back. Good stuff.

Bleak but beautiful, its an amazing place. Yeah I always love that feeling that you can carry everything you need to live on your back. That's probably why I love walking and camping, the minimalist thing. Puts everything in perspective. Cheers.

Glad you chose not to ‘test the acoustics’ in that church Tom 😬...Candice will have adjusted to the, er, wind, but those poor sods in the church wouldn’t have been able to cope🤢🤭. I really enjoyed this vid, and loved the mix of nature and industrial... looks to me like nature’s still winning though👌✌️

Hi Tom, thanks for some chilled viewing. Watching this video it occured to me if you'd investigated the London Stones at Yantlet Creek near Grain and - on your side of the water - the Crow Stone near Southend? It strikes me that they'd appeal to the local-knowledge/history geek in you. Just a lump of stone, but interesting lumps of stone! Cheers again.
