WILD CAMPING IN FOG AND HAILSTONES | WALKING IN KENT: UPPER HALLING AND THE NORTH DOWNS

This is the FINAL walk from the Year Round Walks In Kent guidebook! Upper Halling and the North Downs, 4.25 miles. I had hoped to do this one with Candice as she has done so many of the walks with me but she didn't want to camp in the cold this time of year. The temperature dropped to just above freezing (1 degrees celsius) and there were hailstones and heavy fog. I made this walk a special one and decided to wild camp somewhere off the path hidden in the woods on the North Downs chalk ridge. I used my Terra Nova Laser Competition 1 tent and reviewed 3 new ciders. In the morning, I passed the tiny Norman church of Dode, the only remnant of the village that was abandoned after the Black Death in 1349. Let's just hope it doesn't come to that again this time...
