I remember doing Steel Fell as part of the Green Burn Round about 16 months ago with a fellow KZbinr and she climbed the Howitzer on the last Fell of the day Helm Crag. I was real tempted to give it a go myself and then remembered my size 11 flippers and thought better of it. Lots of false summits as I remember up Steel Fell and you do not make it easy for yourself, so a well deserved swim at Coledale Tarn. I love the way your dog was looking very worried about you while you were swimming, thought about going in to drag you back but just like me on the Howitzer, thought better of it :o). Well done on your route down, which I hate, I had no choice when I came off High Raise and Sergeant Man about 18 months due to losing the light and it was soaking wet. Man I was bricking it coming down and so relived I got down on the flat without incident, apart from the wet behind as I had to bum slide down a lot of it, as the rocks were swimming. Real chuffed with myself getting down and back on the flat, walking around Easesdale Tarn, then I slipped and fell into a bog😡. You could have come down off Blea Rig, which is a bit further round, which would have been a better descent to the tarn, which is the way I intended to come down but with fading light, I had no choice. I did last that long, so pop the medal in the post :o). Cheers Alan

Steel Fell.is a lovely hill but steep! The whole area is stunning Alan as you well know! The swim was lovely and yeah Kyloe was a bit freaked out lol uts been a while since ce he say me swimming and the last time was in the sea lol. Getting down from the tarn is not to be sniffed at and it must have been an absolute nightmare in the wet! Can't believe you fell in a big after all of that! I bet the air was blue 🤣 medal.is winging it's way lol. Thanks so much for watching as always 😀😀

Nice video- had a great atmosphere to the whole thing, smashing to get the tarn (almost) to yourself. Did it take Kyloe long to get used to tent sleeping? I'd like to take my doggo out but not sure if he'd settle. ATB, Graham

Ah thanks mate! I travel about and hour and a half to 3 hours to the lakes depending on how far I'm going down. Was Dale is the furthest at around 3 hours from me but I can get to ullswater on a good traffic day in under 2 hours. I didn't fancy a skinny dip so left the undies on... didn't want to traumatise the dog 🤣 and yeah... this one was actually before the wandope video but amazed to remember them lol.
