Solo winter camping at a lake in the mountains! (Rain Storm)

I decided to try something new out this weekend and do a little solo winter camping, the weather was pretty ugly off and on raining the whole time. I headed to a lake that I thought might be frozen, I brought my fly fishing rod with me just incase it wasn't.. it was so beautiful out there that I even decided to go for a swim.. it was COLD!!

Thanks bud! I’ve fished that lake in the summer and caught a few small fish, it’s stocked with trout but I’ve never caught anything bigger than 6-7”

Those hash-browns are so good. Camping essential in my books. I camped at that lake before, they tore up the road one year and we had to find a different spot. Good to see its back to normal.

Passed that lake a bunch of times - I always thought it would have some good fishing - did you see any evidence of fish?

I have fished this lake a few times there are a lot of ~12 inch rainbows that are stocked by the freshwater fisheries. Heard there is some big ones in there as well

I’ve fished it in the summer and caught a few 6-7” rainbows nothing big for me there but it’s a beautiful little lake

i fished that end of the lake in my tube 0 luck. i think the other end is better

Again it’s a shame about the garbage right by/in the lake. Why didn’t whoever lost that trailer come back and pull it out? So many lakes and rivers close to the Lower Mainland have become dumps because of idiots that trash them.

I’m starting to think maybe someone ditched the trailer there because you would assume they would try to recover it if they just crashed it there… I couldn’t agree more it’s so unfortunate how people trash our beautiful spots, we can’t have nice things 😔
