Those pre wired led’s I assume have a certain size resister correct and can be used for dc also? Nice work! Like to see you do a video on a proto 2000 sd60. keep videos coming

I use resistors from 470 to 2200 ohms. Yes, they can be used for DC. Thanks for watching.

How do you program the sounds do you need like a computer to put the sounds you wanted or its something else because I have a Proto 2000 SD7 of Milwaukee Road and I’m curious about how to program the right sounds for the SD7
@SoloContracting Жыл бұрын
You will need a computer and a ESU Lokprogrammer 53451 to load sounds on the decoder.

Wash your new Solder joints off with alcohol because over time the Flux residue is corrosive and will give you a solder failure, Get yourself some acid Brushes and cut the bristles a 1/4 inch from the ferrel of the brush for a good cleaning brush.

Very, very helpful. Just bought a P2K SD7 (EMD 990, now SP 1518; the first SD7) and would like to do an identical installation. Two questions: 1. What solder do you use? 2. What gauge wire did you use for lengthening the pickup leads? Edit: Saw you already answered what kind of flux you use.
