I traveled to one of the most famous hot spring cities in Japan and explored Beppu Jigoku.
If you love onsen or you want to try onsen, Beppu might be your future travel destination.
More information:
If you only want to see 3 or 4 jigoku, it’s cheaper to buy tickets separately
Kyushu trip started from Osaka. I took a cool overnight ferry to Kagoshima.

As much as I like the videos showing us different means of travel (the ferry ones are still my favorite! I still think it's crazy you have an hotel in there haha) I really appreciate the last ones where you've been showing us around the places and we get to experience traveling through your videos and see a bit of the food and the culture! That said, thanks for taking us to hell with you! The trip there was more pleasant than what I expected haha!

I had to chuckle at "you can drink the hot springs??" moment. Not sure of the popularity now, but "taking the waters" in Bath, England was considered a great restorative therapy. Not only did individuals bathe in the hot springs, but were also encouraged to drink the waters (from a separate location, I believe/hope). Great video as always!

It's a faded industry nowadays (though some are still hanging on as tourist attractions), but that sort of thing used to be big, big business all over Europe and the United States. "Spa" is a common name for self-indulgent relaxation establishments because of the prominent example of the kind at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, and Vichy in France was famous for its springs before it became better known for worse things. Franklin Roosevelt died in his favorite spa town, the aptly named Warm Springs, Georgia. Time was, you could find anyone who was anyone in high society at one "water cure" resort or another. (The water for drinking was usually taken from the source springs, upstream of where the rest of it would end up in the bathing pools, or from separate wells, depending on the establishment. They didn't just dip it out of the bathing pools. These places were basing their business on the appearance of hygiene, after all. :)

What a terrific style of documentary! Fun, informative, peaceful! No screaming narration, irritating music or self adoring facial close ups! I often go to Beppu for work and love it there. The people are very kind and polite. Great food and hotels have outdoor pools and some open in winter! Very enjoyable content! Thanks!

I really enjoy your videos! You show the different ways to travel with pricing, wonderful places to visit, and I really like how you translate for people like me. I also really like how you explain the different meals you eat. There are so many channels that don't translate anything so I do appreciate your effort in going above and beyond.

At least you met a bus driver with a sense of humour instead of hell girl (from the anime)...😊😁 Beppu is lovely! Too bad you didn't go to all 7 jigoku. The ice cream looked delicious so was lunch! I like that the ticket got discounts from the bus pass and an entry to all 7. Thank you for sharing with us your journey, can't wait for the next leg, another ferry! 😀👍🏽👍🏽🍚 Looking forward to it very much!

A great series of videos for retired single men such as myself. I don't mind traveling alone--no discussions about what to do, where to go, when, etc. Just DO it! BTW a "fitting room" is in a store where you try on clothing to see if it "fits" (don't forget to take off your shoes!). A "changing room" is where you remove your clothes, and if it is a large area, a "locker room", as in a large onsen, or sports facility.
