Does Citlali have the best story quest in Genshin Impact?

For me baizhus is still my favorite, it wasnt overly fancy or anything but it was enjoyable and felt very coherent and made me cry at the end but i may be biaswd since i also like baizhu

The stuff that actually had to do with Citlali was excellent. However, the antagonists were boring and they actively detracted from my enjoyment of the story quest. Definitely not the best one.

This was LITERALLY my experience over the past few hours (I just finished it). The plot twist was technically more functional than the godawful one in Xilonen's quest despite still kind of just coming out of nowhere (and the lampshading in the cinematography as though I wasn't paying attention to the story was insulting to my intelligence), but the motivations of the main villain were nonsense even by his own dialogue (how do you get from being legitimately angry with the government for treating you and your product unfairly to wanting to destroy a part of another nation's history because you want money? That's lame and doesn't even match why he was so angry about not being able to advertise his product in the first place), and there was just no reason at all for that conflict to happen. We didn't learn anything about The Regorator that we couldn't have learned later in a future quest where that information is actually relevant. There was literally no reason for Citlali's quest to have antagonists at all. They bog the story down with a pointless conflict that doesn't go anywhere or serve any purpose to Citlali's character arc and the theme of the quest just to introduce smidges of lore about a certain Fatui Harbinger that doesn't matter right now.

30:21 I always just understood “art” to mean “the ancient art of color perception”, not as a literal piece of art (like a painting). Also at the end of the quest Citlali uses a special color (apparently only she can use). And considering how she’s a high priestess (and only Ororon, Citlali and the blue dinosaurs can solve puzzles), I just took it as: making and or perceiving certain colors is an technique/art that can be learned if you’re skilled enough. So the scroll- and color making in the Masters of the night wind is kind of a job? Kind of like how I might know how to knit, but would still pay someone else to knit a sweater.

2:46:59 Hoyo took names from towns and parts of France for half the names of Fontaine characters. Here they misstyped "Montluçon" which funnily is a town of the "Allier" county. Nothing to do with "allié" (ally).

Its actively just as bad/good as most of the other story quests. Following the basic hoyo formula of "introduce random npc at the start, do fetch quests, random npc is evil, story quest end". Its a pattern that is very prevalent in most story quests since Sumeru. Its a sort of structure that lends itself to making the sqs feel mundane and common. Also the whole Citlali being forced to be a love interest feels like weird characterization considering that this only mostly applies to Aether and not Lumine, especially with that event before. It just feels like unnecessary fanservice that kinda degrades her character to lovestruck heroine. I guess the best way to describe Citlali rn would be a watered down Firefly, which isn't a compliment considering how badly written FF is. I just think its really weird to have her simp for Aether randomly, because it only started during that one event and it wasn't at all present in 5.1's archon quest, it feels badly set up.

I feel like the story was severely held back by the Fatui parts. I liked the rest though.
