Is there a TRUE/FALSE function on the EX? I am trying to check multiplications & factorisation of brackets. ex. Check if (x + 2)(x + 3) = x^2 +5x + 6 And the reverse. It seems that older Casio models had a menu function (4 = VERIFY).

Not on the 991EX. It has effectively been superseded by having a dual table mode. Input you f(x) as (x+2)(x+3) and g(x) as x² +5x +6 and then set a range of values to trial. If they return the same results it is essentially verified.

By a little trick you can do is that the remainder is The compound fraction's numerator So for example if you want to know the remainder of 11/3 which is actually 2 ; You can do the following : Type 11÷3 and press (=) it will show ( 11/3 ) then type [ SHIFT + S《》D ] It will show ( 3 plus 2/3 ) , (2) is the remainder . You can do this with any scientific calculator, by the compound fraction feature.

That means that your equations has no real solutions, only complex solutions. What you do with that depends on what your studying. If you need complex solutions then that's your answer. If you only need real solutions then that equations doesn't have any.

Using the formula on you calculator do you mean? There are lots around on You Tube. The Calculator Guide has one previously on using a b and c as stored values. It is older, but is still quite popular.

No it is for the fx-83GT plus but if you are not using the Polynomial solver then it is exactly the same procedure for the fx991EX as it is for the fx83GT plus

The way that the fx-991EX stores values is slightly different but it is still doable. Other that that, I don’t know. Most users would just use the polynomial solver as it is available.
