I LOVE the part where you were talking about your father and the fact that he never took a bribe and how it impacted your family. I can relate to that, however your situation was more extreme than ours for sure. My dad always talked (still talks) about the Soul and he said any food, clothing or shelter bought from bribes or unlawful money impacts your body (by corrupting it i.e. bad energy) which in turn impacts your Soul. I am TRULY happy to hear what you say about your father for two reasons 1. You are recognizing your father's good character as a highly desirable and rare trait and are talking about it in high esteem, even if it meant all of you had to suffer. 2. This gives young folks who see their father have the same traits as a desirable will hold their father in high esteem. There were times that I wasn't too happy with my dad's honesty as I saw others in similar situation as ours being more "affluent". As a young kid, I wanted all those things too. However, now...I am so glad that he was steadfast with this beliefs and those beliefs have propagated to his progeny. By the way, you know all your siblings being so educated and doing well in life and you most of all being so successful, it's not a fluke. It's the good karma (un-corrupted beginnings) of your life started by your father. Your father lit the first spark (the Chirag) on a journey towards who all of you are now. Bravo! Best wishes!

I totally agree with you Abbas. The story of this father's good character really stood out. Good stuff!

As a young kid what drove your desire for "things"? Most kids want to do things, see things, and go places.

I saw a previous interview of Naveen and found him to be a Douche. But, this interview changed all that. He is absolutely brilliant. His words of Wisdom shared here has really touched my heart. All the very best and blessings to him and his family.

WOW. Naveen is more like a Guru, an Entresadhu than a preneur. I felt I woke up from a dream of Alice and wonderland that this too can happen in today's world. God bless you, and just keep doing what you do. Thanks for such a great conversation. Anyone having Naveen in their life like his children are very very lucky.

A handsome man with beautiful children inside and out. He is a 180° from the orange guy in the White House. The country could really use a leader like Mr. Jain during these difficult times. Naveen maybe you could make a virtual farther app to guide so many of us that lacked parental guidance. I made it in spite of no guidance, but so many don't.

10:25 How does one make truly noble men and women the heroes in the minds of our young people? I am acutely aware of the tragedy Naveen notes here, where our generation heroizes athletes and actors, but how do we fix this?

Wonderful interview, so inspiring! Thank you Tom, your interviews are something else! Just love them. Clearly, Naveen is the man who has been loved great deal by his parents and supported in his dreams, views and ambition. People who haven't had such great start and ones who turned narcissistic as result, will never be happy or feel excited about any of their achievements no matter how big they may be. Problem with this is not only that they are unhappy, toxic and unfulfilled but they cause so much pain to others starting with their children and anybody around them and so cycle of abuse continues. I would like to change this!!!! I would love to stop this kind of suffering and find ways to heal these people and save future generations from life long pain!!!!

Great interview. Not taking from what Naveen is saying, but wanted to take a moment to compliment the interviewer's ability to keep a deep and engaging discussion going, without taking over the interview. So many interviews I've seen recently ends up having the interviewer talking over the interviewee, interjecting personal opinions and such. Interviewer stays to facts and allows Naveen to actually talk. Good on you.

In my area if you innovate or drastically improve a business or how is done.... the already established people in the business steal your idea and do all they can to make you go broke. I have yet to find a lawyer, or bureaucrat, who won't sell out to these people. It is incredibly frustrating seeing your idea or system or improvement working well and making money for those people.

Hello Naveen Jain, congratulations on living your best life. Thanks for sharing your intelligence. Even though I've read that you've earned money I am aware that it's your money. You are offering so many ideas. I am wanting to care for orphaned, needy children, do you have some ideas and help on how I can create a successful children's space?
