Professionalism: 2/10, No gloves, Touching random stuff, this is a forensic nightmare. Mystery: 3/10, unless you knew exactly how a diabetic works you can't solve at all plus nobody should assume the bottle broke after death with absolutely no evidence. Conclusion: the writer is a diabetic or knows somebody who is a diabetic enough to write this and assume everybody knows about what diabetics do.

This can't be: 1. If your blood sugar gets low you need fast acting sugar and chocolate is not. 2. If you use water instead of insulin you get a high blood sugar not low! 3. He wouldn't be dead immediately after falling in coma because of high blood sugar and before falling in coma he would feel so ill that he wouldn't want to stay up. 4. He would test his blood sugar and would see that it is too high after taking water instead of insulin! So this riddle isn't solved yet!

As a type one diabetic myself, I'm very disappointed in Buzz Feed for their poor representation of the type one diabetic community. Diabetics don't cary around chocolates if they ever need to pick up their glucose levels, mainly because chocolate is a slow acting food- it takes your body a while process the sugars in it (also called low-G-I), if he were every having a hypo (where the body has run out of sugar and doesn't need insulin, but sugar instead) he would be reaching for something packed with sugars in it eg: juice or sugar-coated lollies. However, in this 'murder' the man was having a Hyper- where the body has too much sugar and because the pancreas doesn't produce insulin, it needs it to be injected manually. For that matter, this man wouldn't have fallen down and died suddenly, it's common that he would have had symptoms of his hyper (most people I know, myself included, get very tired and extremely thirsty) and then in serious cases of untreated hypers, may have developed diabetic ketoacidosis, where your body starts creating dangerous levels of body acids known as ketones, but this takes hours or days to develop. I don't know who directed this film, but I advise that they actually learn about type one diabetes before thinking they know everything and jumping to conclusions. Also for the future, please specify if your talking about either type one diabetes or type two, both conditions are very different and the only thing that 'relates' them is a hormone. (One is a auto-immune disease, whereas the other isn't) One last thing before I go, for all my fellow diabetics out there, am I the only one- or does no one else cary around insulin in little jars anymore? We're way past that, using either insulin pens or a pump. Cheerio!
@Uberchix027 жыл бұрын
Emily Blonde Yep, I used to use a pen but now I use a pump, never seen those little pot things in my lifeeee. Also, you can go days without having insulin but you would get very sick and after quite a while then it would get more serious
@trumanbubblo30947 жыл бұрын
I can agree with that, as a type one diabetic. The water would make is blood sugar skyrocket, considering he wasn't getting any insulin, which LOWERS blood sugar, so he wouldn't be frantically reaching for a candy bar, he would be getting water and feeling sick. I disapprove this video for its poor GUESS on how diabetes, a very serious disease, was displayed.

This is incredibly factually inaccurate (if it was an emergency and he was reaching for a candy bar, his blood sugar would have been low. He would not also be frantically reaching for insulin, which you take when your blood sugar is high).
@mochiemomocha7 жыл бұрын
and also chocolate its not very effective. any candy or juice is better or at least acceptable

@kayleighjones76697 жыл бұрын
If someone is a type one diabetic then they do need sugar because their insulin is way off because their islets of langerhans aren't working properly so with their insulin shots they could end up with too little or too much insulin and if it's too much their sugar can get too low. Type two diabetics shouldn't have sugar because their body doesn't produce any insulin due to the excessive sugar.
@georginapalmer7 жыл бұрын

How could he not notice he was injecting water instead of insulin? The rapid change in his blood sugar would've notified him immediately of a problem. He also would have high blood sugars, meaning he wouldn't have gone for the candy. Do some research, Buzzfeed 🙄
@allieren7 жыл бұрын
Exactly. And you have to check your blood sugars in order to give yourself insulin. Even if he were injecting water, the fact that his sugars were only increasing would have probably caused him to get that checked out before it got to the point of being fatal.
