I like to think the cipher is real, but the key was in something so innocuous and mundane, like probably the local newspaper or a diary, that Thomas knew no matter how much anyone tried, nobody could ever hope to open it. Although the most incredible part of the story, and strongest point of doubt, is not the size of the treasure itself, _but how none of the original explorers betrayed and killed each other for it._ People have done far worse for so much more less, so who knows, lolz.
@frankowalker46622 жыл бұрын
The key will be something that the families know about. A favorite bedtime story, a popular book or even the family Bible. (there are so many different versions) As for your second point, they might have killed each other. There is no trace of the expedition before, during or after.

It's is almost like it was a pact between brothers in arms in a sense. I agree with what you said about the cyper is real and might be in a news paper or what not. But I do think it could be a treasure buried but it's wealth I'd the knowledge used to find it. First example the second cypher is the well what most Americans find the most important text. So if this is the first but the first is the second. And it could all be mixed up what is the second and third most important text?? 🤔 I think they would have some bible play in it maybe for the first cypher but the 3rd no ideas.

Another hint, John Wood, Mary Polly-Dooley, Elizabeth Wood Smith played an important role to the party's success.(feel free to ask me questions)

What a mess of numbers! What about Fibonacci sequences with different base numbers. I.e. 11,11,22,33,55... or 3,3,6,9,15... The last one produces a repeating pattern of threes, sixes, and nines when reduced, like 15 becomes six. The one based sequence doesn't do that. The 3,6,9 pattern also gives us the 432 hz A note in music. The natural progressions are good for finding locations. I wish I had the time.
@neiljohnson81212 жыл бұрын
Putting the puzzle aside for a moment I can't help feeling that it is indeed an exercise in futility. If they did hide the gold then it's just too much to actually believe they couldn't find where they had hidden it. You would have had to be looking for a very specific location that the hider would have chosen after careful consideration. Certain aspects would have been very specific to him to just forget the location. Also, I'm not really understanding why they didn't just cash it all in when they had their hands on it and put the money in a bank which would have had the money insured by the US Govt should it be stolen etc. You've spent many months digging up the gold only to bury it and not benefit from the life-changing amount of money even when shared out equally. I don't see any benefit in not cashing it in immediately and then there are the amount of people who had a share, not one of them protested that they wanted the money immediately and not risk losing it all by trusting one guy to hide it? Nah, sorry, just not buying it. There is no logical reason to hide the gold and especially only one of them being trusted to hide it and know where it was. The supposed hider either stole the money and kept it all for himself then telling the rest of the men that he had forgotten the actual location. If he did tell them that then why couldn't he decipher the code he himself had written then entrust it to someone who could have ignored his request and found it himself. Just doesn't make any sense to me, nobody could be that stupid and not be subsequently murdered by the other guys for trying to bullshit them with the lost location bullshit. I would have tortured the shit out of him until he revealed the truth and I wouldn't have even entertained the idea he suffered from acute amnesia and had lost it. Anyway, the location was supposedly in the clues, how the fuck do you not only forget where you buried it but then also forget what the coded messages meant which reveal the location? Nice try Thoughty lol.

@@vincentcircharo8259 Automatic encoding and decoding of codes has existed since the 1930s (if not earlier.) Read up on the Enigma machine if you've never heard of it. I can guarantee someone has tried to run this through a modern, automated system.

I live in Montvale and we have had so many people come look for it. So far nothing. Not even a good coin. The Buford’s Inn building still stands along 460 but its a private residence now. Not to mention it’s a small town so if someone found it, we’d all know thru word of mouth by now 😆

Those numbers look EXACTLY like the results that come out of the encryption algorithm I wrote for photographic tokens. An image or set of images are the input and the output is a group of positive integers under 1000; each separated by a full stop. The output is saved as a .txt file and can be further compressed (but I've not yet perfected the compression algorithm). To decrypt, the computer needs to be on a certain destination device, be given a key, and verify itself with the origin of the encrypted file (something that is dependent on a combination of the first two and a proof that no changes have been made to the original file). The destination device is itself by default [-1], but that feature can be turned off before encryption [0] or it can be set by giving the algorithm the destination device's MAC address ['string value'], or it can also be auto-quarried by the program [1] if the user is not sure.

Have you tried to run the decryption with the numbers yet? I'm curious about the result

Lol I live in St Louis almost everyone pronounces it with a hard S. So St.lewis not St.louie. You are actually correct but it just changed over time. Some still pronounce it that way because there is a large portion of French and Italian settlers. But we usually only pronounce it that way in a facetious manner.

Well you did kind of give a clue at the beginning of the video as for what the 3 ciphers entailed the 3rd being the names of the relatives of the party so has anyone ever done a search for the relatives of the party of the party come up with a list of names and throw it at the wall see what's stuck And the 1st cipher is supposed to have the location within you said estimated 4 miles of the small town so why not find the town that the Inn was inAnd then map it with satellite topographyAnd use a light R scanning plane to fly over the area within 10 milesRadius of the town Lydar has been used in in countries like Peru to find civilizationsAnd buildings hidden in the dense forestSome ground penetrating radarShould be able to tell you if there is a large quantity of metal in one congregated area

Easy, find all Locations Beale traversed and go to the nearest beach, find the cove in Virginia and dig 60 feet in circumference, 24 feet down, and come back and thank me by sharing it with me when ya find it.

I prefer applying logic rather than cryptology to solving this problem. In applying logic, there are two things wrong with this buried treasure story. One, what is to prevent one or more of Beale's fellow "hunters and opportunists" from sneaking back and stealing the treasure for themselves? I mean there were 30 in the original group. The chances are good that at least one of the 30 is dishonest enough to attempt to steal the gold from its hiding spot. And two, it seems that the encryption is meant for outsiders, those not related to Beale and his crew, in which case the treasure is probably long since gone, having been dug up by one or more of the relatives. Then again, why encrypt its location at all? It seems such a waste of time. The keys would surely be passed on to the relatives through their respective wills (Beale and his cohorts). This whole exercise is suspicious.

The Lee Resolution (also known as "The Resolution for Independence") had 3 parts. Declaration of Independence Plan of treaties to be proposed to foreign powers Articles of Confederation and Perpetual Union We know are 3 coded papers, wonder if they relate to the 3 parts. As one has been solved I expect the other two are real to beable to be (whether the overall story is a hoax is another thing). Ive only just come across this, interesting story, my hunch it may all relate around the independence. Do the numbers go backwards from the end, repeat where start again if numbers run out in terms of words, last letter of a word, so many possibilities.
@dakotapeters5654 Жыл бұрын
Lol the 3rd and 4th are simply coordinates and its a matter of knowing what part of earth is now in the same spot as the earth he buried it in. Being that the earths axis changes and land itself shift and moves. Also it may have actually been the first 2 numbers that were the coordinates for lat. and long. if this is the case then the other 2 are number of paces or feet away from the location potentially base on the direction they believed back then that you were supposed to sleep facing if there isnt already the direction needed in the code.

if that Innkeeper forgot about the box for 23 years, i bet the letter came either 10 years on the dime and the Innkeeper threw it out thinking it was junkmail or it came at some other time and someone else opened it and didn't know what it was and threw it out, or he did that, one of those possibilities

There are other, BIG problems with the story. Considering the amount of "gold" and "silver", measured by tons, what is actually meant? Gold can make nuggets which can be washed out of streams and rivers. Not silver. Gold and silver strikes in the southwest have been hard rock mining. Schieffelin's strike at Tombstone, AZ for instance. There are tales of ledges of solid gold which could be picked free, for instance the "Lost Dutchman" mine which has never been found. Silver is found in stone, generally greenish in color. In the race for gold, silver ore was frequently tossed aside in the beginning. We see this in some Colorado sites as well as Virginia City, NV. That said, do we assume the Virginia treasure seekers dragged back over two tons of ore? How did they trade the ore for jewels in St. Louis? How was it measured? Why would adventurers from Virginia know they had silver ore since many over the next decades discarded silver while searching for gold? How many mules did it take to haul back that much ore? How much volume are we considering and how deep a hole was needed to bury it? There are tales of lost Spanish treasure in the American southwest. These treasures are rumored to be similar to what has been found on sunken ships. I suppose that could be a possibility but the treasure is not described that way. Jacqueline Kennedy had dotty relatives named Beale. ("Grey Gardens") That could be an interesting side story... LOL! ;-) (I have done a lot of work on the Voynich Manuscript and believe the language is older Serbo-Croatian -- Kajkavian for instance -- with Turkic and the writing is based upon Croatian Glagolitic cursive. I had COVID in early 2020 and it aggravated chronic, severe, genetic migraine. I have too many migraines to continue the work at this time. I did not watch your video because the subject is emotional for me, especially since I do not know if I will ever be well enough to resume work. I believe the VM is about fertility, sort of a medical book. Just before I had to stop work, I found this, "The wickedness of the world is the dream of the plague." That is especially true at this time. LOL! One of my ancient in-laws may have been involved with the manuscript so I have a real life interest.)

Always a nice surprise to hear New Mexico mentioned in a video by Thoughty 2! Is this in any way related to the Fen Festoferson treasure or whatever it's called? One or two of my mom's siblings were present when it was found a couple of years ago, and had been searching for it for years by that point.
