As a New Yorker, the police dismissive attitudes is precisely why people don't bother with cops. I do understand NYC is understaffed, and they deal with alot. However, sending police that weren't born before 1995 will never understand what happened back in the 1960's and 1970's. If we changed the verbiage to gangs instead of crime families (which they don't deal with in the 21st century) maybe they would be more interested. Also, they think a 50 year old case is nothing to care about anymore, especially when they can't even solve the cases of today. It's sad.

Sign up with a big city police dept, and see what your day is like for real. Then take a time out from all the current BS and go listen to people who think they have something big, but so far have nothing in the real world. The Lt couldve had a better presentation, but I also have enough respect and wherewithal to understand I dont know where he just came from, and what things have been like lately. Despite all the sensationalism, Kevin doesn't know any more today than he knew 50 years ago about what is under that water. Lots of cars were dumped there over the course of years. The divers said they found "a car" where lots of cars got dumped. Kevin also didnt record a tag or a VIN when he dumped it to compare it to the tag and/or VIN they still havent found yet. That bone that didnt look like a human bone has been confirmed to not be a human bone, as expected. At this point they have nothing. Sensationalized Geraldo's vault. Think for yourselves logically.

Again I can't stress enough how much your work is important to all families of missing persons in vehicles your profound work is so important and all law enforcement should be reaching out to you and other search and dive teams to help solve all these cold cases. I wish there were also land recovery teams on cold cases too. Again thank you and your team for all your hard work.

I hope that an individual or two can come together with funds for the two of you to dive again (no matter how many times it takes) to bring up more of the wreckage and possible bones of the gentleman who was killed. The family still deserves to know what happened to their loved one. A huge thank you to all of the men who helped with this endeavor. I am sure they would also love to be a part of any future dives to recover more items. I have loved cars since I was a little girl helping Dad in the garage. As soon as I saw the steering wheel in Adam's hand underwater with that piece with the weird outline, I knew it was the car they were looking for. I was so happy for Kevin to validate what he has been telling everybody. I am sure many thought he was making up stuff. Now he has his proof after 50 years. When he screamed holding that steering wheel you could feel his elation. It was like him saying a big FU to those who thought he was a liar. He does get a bit hyper, but honestly I can't blame him. This is something he has been saying for 50 years only to fall on deaf, unbelieving ears...until now. Adam and Jeremy - I love both of you. You were the perfect people for this mission. I hope you get the chance to complete what you started with Kevin. Be careful, much love, and Godspeed.

I am a 50 year old Canadian from BC , the entirely opposite end of North America ! and I would have been about 3 years old when all this happened. Even I know who Roy DeMeo was ! ( one scary guy for damn sure! ) Such a crazy true story ! even just the things that happened in the Gemini Lounge ( Roy and his crew’s hangout) and also “Dracula’s” apartment next door , where they did most of the dismemberments etc. ( Roy’s cousin looked like Bella Lugosi the Dracula actor from the early films so they gave him that nickname). I can’t believe that guy is Lt. Police officer in New York and doesn’t have even the slightest clue about what happened in that area. Thank goodness he’s on the case ! 🤔😄 What a joke ! 🤭 Totally useless! He should be working in California investigating a stolen surfboard 🏄 that’s a bit more his speed ! They should have sent an actual Detective and some of the older guys at the station as they would know about this stuff at least to some degree! and an anthropologist to identify if that pc of bone was human or not ! ( it wouldn’t be hard for someone who knows exactly what to look for etc ) That Lt. is a desk driver ! He’s just doing time and collecting a paycheque until he retires! I get it that Kevin is excited / carried away at times and his story ( that i believe to be true) seems a bit far fetched and a bit more than he’s used to dealing with everyday.( most cops I’ve ever met no matter what their “ pay grade “ would be excited themselves to learn about this old case and what happened I would think ! It’s got to be a lot more exciting than kicking bums out of the park and writing tickets for drinking . The rest of the police seemed to really want to hear what he had to say ) But it’s time for that Lt. to go do some reading or at the very least watch some videos about the area you work and serve in. Anyone who’s interested in learning more in depth about this story about “Roy” ( and who he actually is) before and mostly after the point in time that Kevin dumped this 70’s Lincoln Town Car car in the river. Do some research and you will see Kevin isn’t lying about what happened in that area ! ( that Lt. just didn’t know Jack Shit about it!… And that in itself is shocking! How in the hell did you ever get that job in NY and not know anything about the place itself ? 🤷♂️ ) It truly is one of the craziest parts about the entire Mafia involvement in America and NY area specifically during that time. That LT. needs a serious history lesson ! totally clueless about the areas history and what took place at that time. For anyone who wants to know that doesn’t know already, read the Book “ Murder Machine “ by author Gene Mustaine it is about that exact person that Kevin is talking about in this video - Roy DeMayo and his gang of enforcers / hit men and killers that worked for the Mafia / Columbo crime family back in the late 60’s and 70’s. It’s probably the best book out there on this specific topic ( about Roy and his crew) that I’ve come across over the years. Most other books just gloss over parts of it , this book talks about most of that part of the story, the people involved and what happened there 50 years ago. It is without question one of the best True Crime books I’ve ever read. Someone for the love of god buy that Lt. a copy of that Murder Machine book , he won’t even believe what actually happened years ago on the very streets he’s working on !

My parents in Minnesota who have never been to NYC or involved in law enforcement know who Roy DeMeo is. Actual NYC officer doesn’t. Crazy

The woman officer seemed decent, the other man, seemed a bit stand offish and not interested, however he still listened and wasnt rude. Then you have Mr 300k, he doesnt deserve to be in the position he is in. He was arrogant and rude. He most certainly should be fired, i cant believe the city of New York or the state of NewYork would want that scumbag representing them. As far as the dive team and crew, yall did an amazing job. Its obvious it no simple task to do the work yall have done. Great job to all involved!

Hopefully the FBI guy will take things more seriously than the cop.

Great job guys! That river is huge and y’all went straight to it. Stay safe out there and God Bless! Be careful with some of the prayer items you find, not everyone prays to God 🤗💕🙏

Awesome Video finally came to my area . God Bless you Kevin you did a great thing by getting them to come here . Keep up the good work guys . I just watched the part where the Lt . shows up and this LT needs to go learn how to deal with real people . If he does not want to do this job then he should be fired very rude and ignorant . From someone that does respect LE as my family has and are current LEO.
