Thanks for your lecture. Is it possible to have slab cantilever span of 3 meters ?
@DrSuchitaHirde_CivilEnggVideos2 жыл бұрын
Yes. But it may be uneconomical and may have deflection problem in due course of time.

If the cantilever slab is for terrace roof, should the depth of slab be minimum 1/7 of slab span or just use the minimum of 7 cm ? Your response most appreciated. Thanks.
@DrSuchitaHirde_CivilEnggVideos2 жыл бұрын
As per IS456 it is required for serviceability criteria to avoid excessive deflection in long term.

8.63x1.26^2 → KN/mm^2 X mm^2 → KN .... how can it be KN-m? Which point i missed?
@DrSuchitaHirde_CivilEnggVideos2 жыл бұрын
Typing mistake .. please read load kN/m^2 instead of kN/mm^2 and since slab is designed for 1 m width, the unit of same load becomes kN/m.

Udl in kn/m^2 why?
@DrSuchitaHirde_CivilEnggVideos2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment because many students may have this doubt in mind. In slab design, first we calculate load on 1m x 1 m area so unit is kN/m^2. For calculation of BM, slab is considered as beam with 1 m width so the unit of same load becomes kN/m. I hope this will clear your doubt. There is some typographical mistake in UDL diagram as kN/mm^2 . Please read it as kN/m^2..
