Quick explanation on what is happening when a Farmall Transmission is stuck between gears or locked in a specific gear. This will get you out of a bind.

I have a cub that would go into 2 gears frequently and the problem was that someone before me left out one of the detent balls. When I pulled the trans drain plug, the ball was sitting right behind the plug. Now my trans is much better behaved.

Wow! A lot of mistakes can happen in 50, 60 or 70 years. Sometimes it’s a mystery trying to figure out what someone else did and why!
