My theory was that just like the pteradons in the aviary of JP 3, the spine-o might’ve still been trapped in its enclosure during the events of JP 2. Another theory could’ve been that since JP 2 had the bonded pair of T-Rex, the spine-o stayed out of their territory simply because it was out numbered.

This makes sense seeing as predators tend to avoid each other because a fight could result in serious injury, which make survival difficult. The reason for the Rex/Spino fight in JP3 could be that the Rex was a young adult and didn't know better.

The same way i used to assume both locations got wrecked by the same storm, i always assumed this dino was created roughly at the same time(as the events of the 1st movie) . But because of a combination of it being young and there being multiple Rexes around it just stayed out of their way. Only to emerge in the 3rd movie because of "nature" reasons like a lack of food and thus a need to duke it out with the Rexes for survival.

Um, numbers 1 it was confirmed the Scorpios rex was the first hybrid, which was born in 2009, and Number 2 Spinosaurus was born in 1999, which is after the events of the lost world. So that's why the Spinosaurus wasn't in JP2 because it wasn't even born.

@@joebenzz there are deserts in Hawaii, for example the Ka'u Desert on the Big Island. If you've been to Maui then Kihei is widely considered Maui's desert microclimate because it is the driest part of the island. It's hard to see it as a desert considering all the housing and resorts built there now but you can still see the dry brush and rocks that make up most of north Kihei road.

It's worth mentioning that Michael Chrichton never wrote a novel for Jurassic Park 3. The first and second films were loosely based on his novels but he never made mention of a spinosaurus in his book "The Lost World" because he didn't see the need to.

Interesting to note that ingen never tried to take any of the pterodactyls in the second movie which would have been quite an attraction.

I honestly think the reason they don't bring it back often is because a lot of people (mostly Rex fans) have a sour spot for this dinosaur. The other majority are people who apply real world knowledge to this movie (ex: The T-Rex's bite should've killed the spinosaurus because its bite force is the strongest in the animal kingdom, etc. etc)

@@abimaelreyes7134 The main problem of this franchise is the Dinos had been more and more like horror movie monsters than actual animals.The first 2 Jurassic Park movies are closer to reality in terms of animals behavior.JP3 Spino is like ,”Yeah,instead of minding my own business I decided to dedicate my whole life into hunting human”who’s probably not enough for an appetizer anyway . In reality they would spend the most time fishing or resting instead of doing unnecessary hunting for fun.Not even gonna talk about TJW,smh. I like the idea of “JP2:The Lost World” ,especially from the novel,they are just animals,hunting when needed,attacking when provoked, and mostly only chasing you away when they’re not hungry. I’m not even going to bring up how a real Spino should be like in JP3, but that fight against the Bull Rex was totally unrealistic,while a fight like that is too risky for any aphex predators. We could also go with the argument that enough time has passed to the point that predators the were able to exist on separate parts of the island have started over populating and now have begun moving into territory due to competition. The T-rex family as well as the Carnotaurus seem to be the only other mega fauna predators on the island with Only the T-rex even showing multiple members of the species. The Spinosuars and Carnotaurus were the only members of their species and thus had the rest of the island to explore and find a niche. The T-rex because they had multiple members, at least two Bull & Buck and latter Junior plus the unknown fourth that got killed in JP3 we can see the T-rex population is starting to grow and may now need to leave and enter into other territory looking for more food.even if the Spinosuars isn't killing or fighting T-rex all the time it would still have to put up with another Mega funa predator eating in it'sterritory, which also explains why its follows T-Rex urine. The Spinosuars has become super aggressive because it is now contently needing to protect its territory from competitors and anything(humans included) that don't fit with what it knows is now a competitor that needs to be removed. It get shoot at and has a plain partially crash into it spine so even if it doesn't seem to be that wooded it has suffered attacks from human so its not impossible for Spino to see humans as a threat now.

yeah dude i agree. You can also go with the theory that spinos and t rex have their own territories since predators have their own boundaries. As such, trexes are the apex competing with other trexes in the south so it would make sense for trexes to migrate north to maximize competition in the north.

I think the reason why we dont see the Spino in Lost World was because Lost World takes place in Doe and Bucks territories. The Spino may be strong but i definitely think two fully grown Trex could easily take them out. I believe the adolescent Trex actually invaded the Spinos territory trying to carve out a piece for itself sincs it was still growing and thats why the Spino took him out so aggressively. Plus even then the spino was a sub-adult in JP3, it was only 2 years old at the time. Also a mind controlled spino, which is weaker than normal would've killed big eatie if it wasn't a kids cartoon. With big eatie essentially being the same size as rexy. Big eatie (44 feet long) Rexy (44.3 feet long)

They all traversed the same ground, on the same island, sure….but how did the vegetation change so rapidly within just a few years? I can understand the spino either not being on the island at the time of ‘97 or being around but far to young ;or the fact that both movies had two distinguishably different raptor packs on the same part of the island but one in the forest vs the long grass/compound….the vegetation though

Yeah, like OP said in the video, the only option that makes sense is with how mountainous the island was (also fits with the book a bit there) the island - and its inhabitants - were separated and were met with different weather. Only the Aviary in JP/// resembled the topography of The Lost World, with the rest of the island in JP/// being rather flat and jungle-filled. But yeah, it's just not possible for both movies to feature the same places.

Well just to throw out another theory, in the books, it's a little less clear in the movie, but Ellie, Grant's ❤️, is an expert in plants. That's her field, and they talk a lot about plants in the book. I think the idea was the ppl who made Jurassic Park wanted to ensure the dinosaurs had the same plants available to them. Hence the line in the film something like "You have plants in this room that..." something something. So! The ppl behind the parks/dinosaurs were also tampering a lot with the plant life. These plants probably had the same chaotic results as the dinosaurs. You're introducing extinct plants alongside modern ones, in potentially different ecosystem entirely. Even if you re-create extinct plants, the earth is changed since then. It's cooler now than in the dinosaur era. So those extinct plants would be undergoing changes, either dying out or who knows what. Hence maybe grassland they tried to plant died off, and was replaced by native/modern plants that were actually suitable to that environment.

It's simple really Isla Sorna/Nublar are in the Twilight Zone. Same as how the T-rex in Park is fed a goat at ground level with a mountain in the background but a few hours later there's a cliff for a jeep to fall off into a massive tree and Alan and the kids can view far off into the distance a field of brachiosaurus. Spinosaurus simply wasn't spawned in yet as Malcolm and the others didn't reach the right points. Alan on the other hand basically pulled the old level 1 player making a wrong turn into a level 99 boss fight. Basically if you ever played Fallout New Vegas, Malcolm went south to Primm-Novac-Strip while Alan went north through the Cazadors and Deathclaws.

It’s even worse with the feeding/cliff problem - the Rex walks out of the fencing which is at ground level with the cars, then when the car is pushed back through the same spot minutes later there's a massive drop. The huge pit/wall makes sense if you’re trying to keep a Rex in, but they wanted it to eat right next to the fence…. So they just did both at the same time, shroedinger’s paddock.

If lore says it was created in 1998, then that does it. There is however a slight problem with this; Jurassic Park takes place in 2001, no way would a 3-year old spinosaurus be an adult. At the very least, it would take a decade to reach maturity in nature, but in the novels it's suggested they altered their growth. Still, the juvenile T-Rex was 2 years old and Rexy was at least 5 if not older. This is all going by the novel.

Well.... brought back some nostalgia with the dino crisis background sound/music.... love it! 2.... There are 7 rexes on Isla Sorna, the seven kings of the island. But the one was moved from Sorna to Nublar. Sorna was supposed to be the main Island for everything cloning, experiments, etc. Which is why Hammond and Wu supposedly had a get away home stationed on the island that we never see except for in Trespasser.

Honestly I wouldn’t put too much thought into ascetics like the island description discrepancies between the 2 movies. It’s not the first nor last time it’s happened in movies, and with minor mental gymnastics, you can come up with your own fan theories about why the changes like they were. Why did Whomping Willow’s appearance and location change from Chamber of Secrets to Prisoner of Azkaban? Maybe The professors used magic to relocate the tree after Ron and Harry crashed into it. Why did Gotham look some much different between The Dark Knight (shot in Chicago) and The Dark Knight Rises (shot in Pittsburgh)? Maybe it’s because it was a 10+ year gap and a large city can potentially change drastically in a decade.

My goofy theory is that it was being "illegally breed" and not in the wild of the island yet. The third movie makes mention that the Spinosaurs was not in creation or known legally. They made many mentions of this monster Spinosaurs made illegally and breed differently from their other processes like how they showed on Isla Nublar from transferring over from Isla Sorna. It makes it was never in Ingen's rooster of cloned dinos to make. It also explains the Spinosaurs is so different from of course accurate real life skeletons and research. Because they are movie made monsters not real dinosaurs and cloned dinos with frog filling in gap DNA or whatever amphibians they use the genetically alternative looking dinosaurs

I've had the theory that the spino was a hybrid for years, basically since we saw the Indo Rex. Judging by how long its rear legs are and how its front limbs are shaped, I'd guess some form of Allosauria. Allosaurus is on their list, but it's very likely more specifically a Carcharodontosauria, leaning into Giganotosaurinae. My first thought was a Giganotosaurus due to its size, which we even see in Dominion, but Allosaurus is on their list and there isn't enough of a difference in the spino's features besides the size difference to have evidence, so I'd leave it more vague since there's evidence only so far. Actually this speculation topic could be a whole video.

Actually, I’m pretty sure the T-Rex we see in JP3 is a completely separate Rex from the Rex Family we see in Lost World. My main point that makes me firmly believe that’s the case is if you look at the coloration of the skin from both forms of Rex, you can see that the skin of the JP3 Rex is more green because it was probably born in that more tropical landscape so it’s body (and skin) adapted to that sort of environment. Just like how when you look at the Rex family, their skin is closer to a shade of brownish grey to fit in to the environment they’re born and raised in.

I hate how they leave out the spinosaurus backstory in the film. In the orginal script there was supoosed to be more lore behind the creature featured in the film. And the difference in terrain annoys me because it is clearly the production team just not paying attention to consistency

Another thing to consider; paleontologists believe that spinosauroid dinosaurs likely co-existed alongside other large therapods because their largely fish-based (probably) diet meant they didn't come into competition with other large therapods. So that's likely a factor. The lake on Isla Nublar was artificially stocked with fish, so maybe the same is true of the inland waterways on Isla Sorna. If in 1997 there were still plenty of fish in the river spinosaurus wouldn't have strayed from the river much. If by 2001 its fishy food source were exhausted, it would have been driven to look further afield for other food.

Yeah because if you remember when they had the toys available back in the day they had a spinosaurus toy and was confused cause they didn’t have that Dinosaur in the movie but always wondered if they possibly had a deleted scene or something

I like the concept of Spino being created in 1998 and by 2001 was full grown and completely destroyed the already established ecosystem on Sorna since it's a hyper aggressive predator

Isla Sorna was huge. I always figured the two movies took place on different parts of the island hence the difference in flora and why in the lost world they never encountered the spino and why in JP3 they never encountered the buck and doe

Another good question, Jurractic world fallen kingdom is based around saving the isla nublar dinosaurs because once the volcano erupts, the dinos all go extinct. What happened to the dinosaurs on site B, theyre not dying r they?

I think its called the Amalgom testing. 4 species that include corys, ankys, cerato, and spino. They were illegally bred by ingen in either 1998 or 1999.

I can't remember were I read it but the spino was in captivity on the isla sorna getting a lot of harsh testing done to that made extra aggressive. It got out during a big storm, but it was still young not moving around to much. I also think that the Rex probably started migrating around the island after it's mate and baby got taken away trying to find them. The second part is just a theory though.

The different biomes is still a problem. Given that they removed the planned nods to The Lost World, that suggests they decided Jurassic Park 3 did not take place in the same spot. But what about the different biomes? Well, it is still possible to have it be on the same island, as they might have deliberately adjusted some of the biomes to look different to suit the varied dinosaurs. Or something.

I have an idea on why it wasn't shown in the lost world Because it was already the size, and clearly the age of a senior Spinosaurus by 2001, most likely due to genetic modifications, it most likely perished before 2015 (When JW1 Happens)

So that’s where the spinosaurus was! It’s mostly seen in Jp3 and more in camp Cretaceous on mantah Corp island where it maybe just maybe got killed by big eatie and little eatie after they chased it off for revenge of killing bull but spinosaurus is one of my favorite dinosaurs it sure was hidden in the lost world however not fully grown in jp3 and younger and unseen in the lost world but however spinosaurus is a cool dinosaur great content I’m always here for you Shadows for the support! Until now I had always thought Jurassic Park 2 and 3 took place at the same time so the spino was concentrated on grant not malcom but your version makes more sense

Well both movies took place at different locations on the island so the spino was not going to be in the second and as grant said in the third, ingen was up to something secretive as the place they found was in a hidden location

The thing with the spino being a hybrid (more than the needed genetic filler DNA) is that it wouldn't make it needlessly aggressive. Indominus' whole thing was that it was an already aggressive strain that had no concept of socialization or existence as a predator, so it just killed what it came across. I just can't buy the spino being raised in extreme isolation to adulthood like that when we see the island setup with free roaming areas for the most part. I'd hazard a guess that while it is aggressive, it's the tyrannosaur and carnotaurus moving into its territory that's got it extremely agitated (also why it would actively seek out the smell of tyrannosaur urine), and thus ready to fight anything. Normally you'd expect something to try and scare off another competitor, but when you don't want to leave your territory and the other creature keeps trying to muscle in you get to that point of attacking it to drive it off or kill it.
