Also really happy to get so many titled players to share their tips and tricks for learning which the one who got the most benefit will be yourself. Keep up the good work and the activeness in the breaking 1000 forum.

I was looking for the episode with Zachary Saine, the chess nerd, but it doesn't seem like he's been on the podcast yet. You should ask him.

Very nice interview. I personally like the phrase 'tournament practice'. I also never liked them, but now I'm hoping to fold them into a general practice philosophy. As said here, you need to lose to learn. :-)

@@RookieRedheadI'm back into chess after quitting for over 20 years. Now, I find myself having to relearn openings, learning tactics, etc. So I am like a 'new' beginner. :-) But I started with Chess Steps and find it an interesting experiment to see where it takes me. Good luck with your journey!

@@RookieRedhead About learning openings: I hate studying openings, so I did take the advice not to start too early, BUT the biggest problem is that all the other beginners are studying openings. So, if I just try to apply the opening principles, I'll burn up all my time, while my opponent is still blitzing out her or his opening prep (if don't fall into a trap first).
