SOLVING CONNECTION ISSUES WITH MOTIVE (KEEPTRUCKIN) ELD

I found a work around for this after contacting motive. Have the fleet manager enable manual mode, this will enable drivers to run their eld manually, thus hey are able to keep an accurate log. But any way, connection issues are often on the truck end, I have a check engine light related to it.

Hey! I have this problem for my fleet… as you say there is not discernable pattern to what causes these disconnects… but some get it multiple times a day… or it will disconnect while driving and lock their app. Have you made any headway with KT? They say there’s no other companies getting these issues but I’d say this video refutes that …

in most cases it is due to the bluetooth not reconnecting when the driver exits and re-enters the vehicle. There is a separate issue that happens occasionally in which the ELD freezes and locks into a driving mode, I do not know what causes that

I shut my Bluetooth off on my android to drive a different truck for a yard move, then came in close range to my truck that I have been drive for three months but I have not shut the Bluetooth off tell then and now I can not connect to my device is it by chance is not getting satellite view so my cellphone not connecting ?

The discernable pattern is that motive sucks. It's on their end, it's not your phone. Nobody should give this company money. Get geotab or samsara.

Both light are green on mine and eld wont still record my driving

If my Bluetooth on phone connected to my headset and Bluetooth speaker. Is that the reason why it's not connected to ELD????

Most phones can connect to up to 7 devices at the same time

I have been driving and suddenly right hand light goes to red and started blinking erratically. Immediately after slamming on brakes,startled by alarming nature of being called out for non compliance. I believe that this is a major concern and a distraction to safe operation of CMV! I am not sure what the remedy is, but if this ever happens to me and distraction causes crash,we will be litigating in court for determination.

Wow, I have been a trucker, and stood by truckers for over 25 years. I hope you are joking. However, if a small flashing red light is enough distraction to cause you to crash you vehicle, PLEASE STOP DRIVING SEMIS.
