I'm trying to get mine at 58 and I CANNOT seem to grasp Algebra at ALL. I'm just home for a class, reviewing and also watching YT videos and I'm more frazzled now than ever. Is it possible some people just cannot grasp math?? I feel hopeless! I excel in English, history etc but cannot understand math. ;((

There's really a difference in knowing something and knowing how to teach it. Most schools check whether a teacher knows their topics, they don't check if teachers can actually teach. I've always known how to solve equations, but I just recently learned the best way to teach it.

Basic idea of algebra, but very essential ones. Learnt a lot from this video. The way you present the lesson make it looked so easy. The explanation also very smooth and easy to follow. Thank you very much.
correct, but you could have used Method 2, so you'll avoid multiplying. so you'll start by dividing both sides by 3. 3(x-5) ÷3 = 21 ÷3, x-5=7, x-5+5=7+5, x = 12

Why do you keep reversing the order of operations? Does this mean that there are two rules.
@UltimateAlgebra6 ай бұрын
There are two rules. Think about it this way. Order of Operation is putting multiple shirts on. Let's say you put 1.red, 2.blue, 3.green, 4.yellow. Solving Equations is someone trying yo find what you put at a certain point. If I want to find what shirt you put second. Then I will have to take the 1. yellow off 2. green off Then I will see that you put blue shirt on. that is the reversal

@savagelaserchicken81483 жыл бұрын
2. X-6=12 +6. +6 = the 6 gets canceled and 12+6=18 so X= 18... 3. 3b = 18 you have to get rid of the "b" so you have to get rid of the 3 too. So you would divide it by 3. You get the answer 6 since the 3's cancel out each other and 18 divided by 3 is 6.
