An overview on how to replace the water pump on my 2014 Chrysler 200 LX that has the 2.4L DOHC (Dual VVT) engine. The same pump is used in many different vehicles, so the removal and installation method is probably similar, but double check that your pump’s part matches what I’m installing. I’ve added a list of models with engines that might have this pump at the bottom of the video description. Keep in mind that car models larger than this 4-cylinder 2.4L are probably very different.

Tools (some links are Amazon Affiliate Links):
• 10mm socket, ratchet (to remove fender liner if you have one, to remove pulley bolts)
• 12mm socket, ratchet, wrench (to remove water pump bolts)
• 16mm or 5/8” socket/wrench (to remove tension on idler tension pulley)
• Pliers (to open radiator draincock valve)
• Bucket(s)/catch basin to collect coolant
• Funnel
• Tool for scraping water pump gasket area clean

The 2.4 is so much easier to work on. I'm definitely not jealous of the performance but definitely the labor..

Im so sick of this 1st gen Chrysler 200. I had a radiator hose that broke off from the t connector. Replaced this then after 4 days the serpentine belt slipped off. Thinking it was because of the coolant getting on the belt and pulleys. My mechanic replaced this and them driving home im getting coolant coming out. Guess what, now I'm spending more $$ to get the water pump replaced.
