Lyra 8 is a great source synth for complex reverbs like night sky! Great idea, great combination!

Excellent demo. They sound so good together. I like the simple filter manipulation you did that adds even more reason for me to get that Night Sky

VERY nice piece using the Lyra-8! I particularly liked how you use the modulation amounts to add some motion to the pitch of the voices.

Bought a Lyra-8 this month and couldn't get anything I liked out of it. I bought a Starlab hoping that would help, and boy did it! Ended up selling the Lyra because it turns out that anything going through the Strymon sounds good.

True that. I still like Lyra-8 though for certain soundscapes I make for games though,

Sorry to be off topic, but are you by chance the same Johnny Morgan that did the music for the SSX series? Because that guy is one of, if not my favorite video game composer of all time.

Beautiful. Question: isnt the lyra 8 mono ? I see a stereo signal going in to the nightsky... how did you manage that?
@johnnymorgansynthdreams3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Trending - I ran the Lyra-8 into my mixer and then I sent an aux signal via an FX send (dual mono). I have the Night Sky patched that way so I can just pull it down from my shelf as needed with out pluging in any new cords.

A Lyra-8 owner myself I wonder (as I do so often): is it more the synth itself or more the effect making this so spectacular. Years ago I have seen a video of a Korg Volca going through a Blackhole and ... the answer was pretty obvious.
@johnnymorgansynthdreams Жыл бұрын
I think it's sort of both really - the effect is definitely important to get the mood, but the Lyra-8 just does things you wouldn't on a standard synth. But good point for sure.

Wow! Truly inspiring. Perfect mix of droning, calming and just a bit of "getting lost out of space" feel. Greetings from Italy. May I ask you (if U don't mind) the scale you used for tuning your Lyra? (I'm struggling a bit in find a right and pleasant one for mine 🙂) Thank you!!

My my, that Night Sky might just be the perfect accompaniment to my Super 6… I’ve been looking at various reverb pedals for a while and I’ve seen this one a lot. There’s a couple other ones up there but… this is pretty special. (Plus the case matches! Not that that’s of high importance.)
@johnnymorgansynthdreams2 жыл бұрын
The Night Sky makes any synth sound great, and it's a bit more 'hands on' than the Big Sky. And yes the cosmetic match with the Super 6 would be almost perfect!
@nickademuss42 Жыл бұрын
I had the Big sky and the night sky, the night sky is the best for synths with way more flexibility and randomness. I kept the night sky, its amazing.
