SOMA Lyra-8 & Ornament // It's like having two LYRAs!

First time with my new Ornament!
I resisted the impulse to buy it until I got a Pulsar-23, then I thought I was invested enough in the SOMA ecosystem to keep overlooking the Ornament.
So I got it, and I am still not sure how much use I will get out of it, but this jam was a real beauty.
I effectively connected with the Lyra on another level, freeing up some mental space for better improvisation, in a way like having two Lyras under my hands.
You can't see it, but on my left, there was my girlfriend painting, so we shared this very artistic moment together and... I mean, that's the reason we do it, right?
When I will receive my tripod for the camera (which I ordered a month and a half ago), I will be able to maybe show you one of these moments together.

It is! I even asked if they intended to make a pink Pulsar, but they said no plans for that, so I settled for a black one 😭

I’ve just bought an Ornament 8 to sequence my Lyra. I hope I can create music as nice and as interesting as this. Beautiful way to end it!! Like the Lyra, the O8 has obvious potential, but unlocking it means spending time with it, getting to understand the idiosyncratic behaviour. Getting several loops going at once can really expose the polyphonic nature of Lyra. The downside for me is the cables - yes, very practical in connecting but horribly messy and my thumb and forefinger are sore from all the clipping and unclipping. It’s a dream, but I can see it would be possible to create cardboard templates which fit over the O8 like a circuit diagram: instant patching!!

I agree completely - including the thumb soreness after a lot of clipping and unclipping! Also, the Ornament gives us the occasion to sit back a bit and enjoy the full picture of the Lyra playing by itself, without being too focused on the performance itself

Oh yeah, here the Lyra is smoother due to the super noisy delay cranked to the max. Every interaction is more gentle, and I still don't understand why this video was so bad received, performing way worse than the others 🤔

Actually, it was very down low in my list too, but exactly 3 days before moving I caught a deal in my town for a complete kit Ornament + Lyra adapter + double bag for less than the new Ornament alone. It literally was destiny, and I got it :) Still craving the Cosmos tho

Thank you for checking it out! I was using an XLR to balanced 6.3mm jack, since the Zoom F6 only has XLR inputs (something I kinda like, because I like how secure the connection feels)

Ti ringrazio moltissimo! Yes, mi sono preso 6 cavi così da poterlo usare sempre come piccolo mixer. Ho anche preso un cavo 3.5mm stereo > doppio XLR, ma non mi fido del tutto di quello, mi dà risultati strani
