This is not true. Somaliland is a recognised country and remains a continued nation since its Independence from Britain 26 June 1960. Somaliland doesn’t not recognised the UN trust Territories formerly administered by Italy aka Somalia federal as part of its Sovereign country. There is no right to make claims on our Independence.
@rodag783112 күн бұрын
Secondly, Somaliland initial clans are only those who signed a treaty with the British which do not include Issa nor dhulbahante or Warsengali. Because French Somaliland is where the Issa had claims after the French Treaty with them and the Canfar. They are not inckuded included in Somaliland Treaty or clans. Similarly, the Warsengali was brought by the British in Yemen to our land as refugees who were displaced by their Majertain cousins and exiled out of their land thus were not part of Somaliland nor are they from there originally. Later, an agreement was signed by Britain and Italy to allow Mad Mullah aka Said Abdullah to be given amnesty in Somaliland Taleex region after he claimed he is a religious scholar wanting to teach the people religion. Again, the British made a deal with people who were from Ethiopia who they called people who are refugees or displaced with no land aka Dhulbahante into Somaliland also. These were not originally from Somaliland. The Issa and Ogden in Ethiopia are not part of Somaaliland and they stated they were separate. Hence, why only Gadabgursi and the eight Isaakh were the only clans who signed a treaty with Britain and demarcated their land.
We appreciate your effort, we are Somalilanders we believe our country and we will believe it until the end ❤

Yes, Somaliland is widely regarded as one of the most peaceful and stable regions in the Horn of Africa. Since declaring independence from Somalia in 1991, it has built a functioning government, held democratic elections, and maintained relative security compared to the rest of Somalia. While no country or international organization officially recognizes Somaliland as an independent nation, it operates as a de facto sovereign state with its own currency, military, and governance structures. Its capital, Hargeisa, is a growing city with economic and infrastructural development

The term Italian Somaliland is wrong. The correct name Italian Somalia.
@ethiopianlogisticianscommunity12 күн бұрын
The term Italian Somaliland is historically correct and widely used to describe the territory under Italian colonial rule in the Horn of Africa from the late 19th century to 1960. It refers specifically to the southern part of present-day Somalia that was an Italian protectorate and later a colony. However, after independence in 1960, when Italian Somaliland united with British Somaliland to form the Somali Republic, the name Italian Somaliland ceased to be officially used. If you're referring to the modern or post-independence period, the correct term would be simply Somalia or, more specifically, Southern Somalia, if you need to differentiate between the regions

Thanks for your support of our nation.I wanted to clarify you something, Somaliland isn't separatest, breakaway region or it isn't declared independence 1991 that's completely lie and incorrect information. Somalia annexed and occupied the independent state of Somaliland in 1st July 1960 and ended 1991 Somaliland restored it's independence in 1991 so, be careful what's you posting sir.

Without the world community recognizing Somaliland, the Horn of Africa will never be stable, because, Somalia, federal lies to the world community that Somaliland is part of them. This is a lie and the people of Somaliland will never go back to the failed state called Somalia and the world communities should recognize the wishes of Somaliland people and recognize this peaceful Country in the Horn of Africa as the 55 states of Africa.
@januarySl202412 күн бұрын
But Somaliland’s present borders are exactly the ones marked by the British, Italian and French Colonial Powers. In fact Somaliland “violated” the colonial borders when it united voluntarily with ex-Italian Somalia in 1960. When it withdrew from the failed Union after the total collapse of the Somali Republic in 1991, it restored the colonial borders which it inherited from the British Colonial Power on June 26, 1960. Somaliland Republic stands since 1991 on these borders . It is wrong and misleading to accuse Somaliland of violating Colonial borders in its quest for international recognition. Today’s Somaliland are those marked by the Colonial Powers.

Ethiopians shouldn't entertain the one clan secessionist administration of Somaliland. The overhyped Somaliland story does not reflect on facts on the ground. Four of the five major clans in the defunct British Somaliland do not support the separation. They want unity. The people of Sool, Sanaag, Awdal, and parts of Togdheer are not part of the unilateral secession of the Hargeysa, Buroa, and Berbera. Moreover, Somaliland never had a sovereignty. The union was predetermined before the independence. When the 10 years Trusteeship was about to end, several representatives from Somaliland went to the UK in order to be allowed to unite with their brethren in the South. The British allowed the appeal. So, the purpose of the independence was not to form a sovereign country called Somaliland. It was to facilitate the union. Read the New York Times and several books, including A Modern History of Somali by I.M. Lewis.

The separation of Somaliland from Somalia has not caused the troubles in Somalia because Somalia choses to be chaotic. It needs no help from anyone because it is the one thing it is expert in.
@ethiopianlogisticianscommunity12 күн бұрын
1. Somaliland declared independence in 1991 after the collapse of Siad Barre's regime in Somalia. Its decision to separate was rooted in long-standing grievances, including marginalization and repression under the central government. 2. While Somaliland’s separation created challenges for Somalia, including territorial disputes and questions of sovereignty, it is not the primary cause of Somalia's broader instability. 3. Somalia's prolonged instability stems from a combination of factors, including Clan-based divisions, Decades of conflict since the 1990s have destroyed infrastructure and weakened governance, Al-Shabaab insurgency, Weak central government, Foreign interference, and Economic challenges. Somaliland, by contrast, has enjoyed relative stability and has developed its own political system, economy, and governance structures. It has not been a source of direct conflict or "chaos" in Somalia. However, the unresolved question of Somaliland’s independence remains a point of contention, as Somalia continues to claim it as part of its territory. This has created tensions but is not the root cause of Somalia's internal issues. The idea that Somalia "chooses to be chaotic" is misleading and dismissive. The chaos in Somalia is not a conscious decision but rather the result of systemic failures, historical injustices, and external and internal pressures. Most Somali citizens and leaders desire stability, but achieving it requires overcoming significant structural, social, and political hurdles.
