This agreement will not materialize, as we are already seeing its outcomes. The man who signed the agreement was humiliatingly defeated in the elections by a candidate supported by Mogadishu. There are many reasons why it will not succeed: 1. Neither Ethiopia nor the Somaliland region has any legitimacy regarding this agreement. 2. Ethiopia has no right to alter borders. It should also be noted that Ethiopia made itself a landlocked country in 1993. Neither Somalia nor the UAE will make it a coastal nation. 3. Ethiopia is currently weak, with wars raging everywhere-in Tigray, Amhara, and Oromia. Moreover, all these regions have a stronger claim to independence than Somaliland. 4. The people of Somaliland oppose this agreement. There is also resistance from the people of the Awdal and Zeila regions. Not to mention the SSC region, which aligns with Mogadishu. 5. The entire world and Africa oppose the agreement because Somaliland's secession would embolden other regions with stronger independence claims, such as Amhara, Ogadenia, Tigray, and Oromia, as well as similar regions in Africa and globally. 6. Somalia is currently much stronger than before, effectively controlling a third of Somaliland's territory, while Somaliland has been defeated by the SSC and no longer has an army. And much more.

FACTS on the ground in the land of “somaliland” “somaliland”, which claimed its independence from Somalia after the fall of the military central government. Civil war erupted in southern Somalia, where civil society became nonexistent in all of Somalia, and the tribes and tribal leaders became the peace-keeper for their tribes, and working with bordering tribes in the interest of peace. And each tribe started governing its own land. “somaliland” or the Isaaq tribe differed little bit in that mentality - tribes controlling its territory - in that, it started bringing back colonial mentality, since the leaders and “politicians” were tied to foreign entities, the same foreign entities that were bent upon for the Somali state to collapse. Come 2024, “somaliland” or the Isaaq clan only control - of the former ‘British Somaliland’ protectorate, which gained independence with ‘Italian Somaliland’ in 1960 - 3 districts; Sahil, majority of Togdheer and Marodi Jeh (as per “somaliland”) or Togdheer and Northwest district, which are 2 of the 18 recognised districts by the Somali federal government. They have lost control to 90% of Sool, to Sanaag except 15-20% which the Isaaq clan habitate and Erigavo (capital city of Sanaag) which is shared city between Isaaq and Harti (sub-tribe of Daarood), and last but not least part of Togdheer, which has become a district on its own and is called Ayn, but not recognised by Villa Somalia. All these territories, before mentioned, are habited and owned by the Harti tribe (sub-clan of Daarood). And then there’s Awdal district, which is a contested district between the Gadabiirsi tribe, who habitate and own that land, who are part pro-Somalia and part pro-“somaliland”. And as of to date, Erigavo (controlled now by “somaliland”) is deserted by the majority of its inhabitants, the Harti tribe and may turn into a war zone, if a settlement is not reached by two administrations; “somaliland” and ‘Khatumo State’ - a semi-autonomous state represented by the central government of Somalia. I paraphrase Somaliland, as “somaliland” in my dictation, because they claim to govern and control land, which is no longer under their administration, and whose inhabitants do not want to be part of “somaliland” or consider themselves as part of it, in which thousands of individuals (innocent civilians and combatants) lost their lives to attain that objective. And frankly, parts of these districts, which “somaliland” claims to govern and control are areas it has never ever controlled or governed, yet it claimed to do so for many years. And it was receiving funds and aid from foreign nations, as well as international organisations. If U.S.A. has become a colonial and empire like its predecessor, namely; ‘British Empire’. Then U.S.A. should do as it feels like and choose one Somali tribe over another. However, if U.S.A. is the same U.S.A. we know for democracy, liberty and self determination, then U.S.A. should change its conduct and foreign policy in the Horn Africa. And work with the United Nations recognised, weak maybe, but nevertheless still the only central and viable government of Somalia.

There shouldn't be a worry about somaliland Ethiopia MOU for a number of reasons. (1 ) in 1977 siyad bare dictatorship regime launched d senseless war against Ethiopia using (greater Somalia propaganda) somaliland people suffered greatly more than muqdisho during and after the war. (2)Siyad bare attempted to populate somaliland with his Daarod clan, the isaaq tribe politicians elites in his administration especially (Siilanyo) formed snm freedom fighters led general muuse biixi cabdi and others. Ethiopia derg regime helped financially, military,training bases during 1984-1988. (3) SNM army launched war in 1988-1991 to re-libarate Somaliland, Ethiopia opened the borderand saved 1 million people from genocide ( 4) Isaaq clan are over 85% of Somaliland population and deeply grateful for Ethiopia help during our dark time. I and my family was 1 of those 1 million people saved. We are 7 million people in 2024 all thanks to Ethiopia. The MOU can not and will not be be cancelled,
